Any yorkies ever prescribed lixotinic? My husband took Candy to the vet today for me. Vet said her heart sounded good, In time he felt her legs would straighten out completely (toddles a bit) He said I needed to give her time to develop some more muscle before we decided what we will do next. He said her legs were to tiny at this point to tell anything and wanted to wait to do anything more. My husband told him I was giving her nutrical a couple times a day and he said he would rather I would slack off of that and give 1/2 cc of LIXOTINIC daily to build blood cells, its also a supplement vtamins/iron with a corn syrup base. Its supposed to releive stress and increase appetite. Her gums were a bit pale and thats what concerned me. I hope she doesnt have an underlying condition. One dose of that stuff this evening and she was barking growling, spinning in circles and chewing on a stuffed animal three times her size and pulling it around the kitchen!! She weighed in there at 11 ozs at 9 weeks, I got 12 oz at home on my postal scale. I just wondered if anyone else is familair with this supplement? |
I have never heard of it. My breeder and vet said nutrical so that's what I have. I think I will google it and see what comes up. |
I found it and it look like what you described it as. It's just that it was in these large jug-like containers because I think they feed it to horses a lot. How much was it and did you get a small quantity? It sounds like it worked for your puupy based on how you describe her behsvior. That's good!! |
The whole visit with the supplement was 35.00. I recieved it in a small bottle. I looked it up to to see it I could find more info.....at first I was like "MY VET PRESCRIBED A HORSE SUPPLEMENT FOR A YORKIE!./GESS!!! But when I thought about it, I guess alot of meds are interchanged with dogs, cats, horse etc. Anyway it seemed to pep her up, but she has been alot more fiesty lately anyway. If her gums start pinking up I'll figure it is working. I think he might of not wanted me to give nutrical on top of it and overload her with sugar? Since I wasnt there and hubby was, I had to rely on his info. Maybe I should rename Candy to Trigger?..........LOL |
