"That's A Sissy Dog" Why in the world are people so untactful. I went with my sister to day to the mall. I took Ruby my girl along with us and ofcourse she was looking gorgeous. Many people like her. So these two women in their early 50's walked by us and right when we where about to walk in the store they kept walking and I over heard one tell the other "That's a sissy dog". What the hell is wrong with these grown women. Are they immature or what. I wanted to walk back and just chew them up alive. Yeah; where the *#$% is there dog sitting outside scraggly looking unattended. Couldn't they just have walked further down and then make their comments where I didn't have to hear them. If it where for my fear of being kicked out I sure would have told them of and set them in their place. What the heck is wrong with people these days? If I see somethin i don't like I just turned my look elsewhere or just walk away. Who am I to judge others. :thumbdown |
They must have been jealous |
Sissy dog? Well that's a new one. Well she might be a sissy but she's a cute sissy. LOL |
Unless my Katy is different than all the other Yorkie's, the last thing I would call her is a sissy! Obnoxious, demanding, lovable, entertaining and trouble maker, yes. Sissy never. |
I think the whole SISSY thing was directed towards me. I don't think they meant the dog. The dogs is what its is it can't change. |
They're just jealous because the dogs better looking then they are. |
Obviously, you are a much better and more considerate person than the two of them combined. You should be content in this fact and know that your dog will love and never judge you whether s/he is a sissy or not. :) |
you should of said real loud..get em sick em..just to see them them take off lol.. |
Rude!! |
Sissy dog? What the....? Don't worry too much about it. I'd just pray for them. Because we all at YT know that the love of a yorkie is one of the greatest gifts to this world. And the ones who don't experience that are the ones who really lose out here..... pray for them..... |
So Unloved They just need a Yorkie in their life to put a little love and joy in their day. If they knew that kind of love then I am sure they wouldn't be so rude. I just feel sorry for those kind of people. |
I think they might have meant to say "sassy"... ;) |

I had an incident that you might like. I was visiting Germany with my husband and my first furbaby was just a few months old and we wanted to walk her one last time before bed. We were walking in the "old" district and I hear this voice that says HA, Ha, look at the furball. Very durogatoryand in English. I took a few more steps and then! it dawned on me, I knew that voice. I stopped. I handed the leash to my husband and stalked up to him with my hands on my hips. Someone said to him that he was in BIG trouble. I asked "Are you so and so?". I thought he might pass out. He was my cousins ex-husband. Talk about a small world. I sure scared him though. He was visiting to. I never did like him. Ha |
Laugh it off!!! The joke's on them, they look in the mirror and see their own Bullfrog face, they can't place a pretty sissy looking puppy even if they tried!! Take it as a compliment, those poor souls arent used to anything ;) |
miserable &*%$£!'s! :D |
Try Try to ignore the jerks in this world. They know not what they do... |
When peoples tell me those kinds of remarks , I laugh at them . I will never stop to live on their accounts . Most of those peoples are frustrated ones . |
I hear that too I'm a new Yorkie mom. I've had a yorkiepoo before. So as Zoie's new mom I've already heard the "sissy" talk and my neighbors call her rat (in love of course) and tell me she's hardly even a dog. Mostly the larger dog lovers can't seem to understand my love and fascination of small dogs. I don't think it really bothers them too much, it just isn't something they understand or are familiar with. I think it's so rude to call them sissy dogs. People should just not say those things at least within earshot out of common courtesy. :-) |
In the words of my dear late mother..."I ignore people I don't like!" |
What a rude thing to say. They really dont know what they are missing out on. Yorkies are wonderful dogs. I have one that is more of a frilly dog but I have another one that is all terrier personality. My son was home form College and he asked if he could take Chachi back with him for a little while. Of course we didnt let him go but it just shows how much these little yorkies can get into a persons heart. |
I forgot to mention my son is a 6"1 mans man who loves a yorkie. He says he wishes I would have let Chachi and Jewels have pups so he could have one. |

Hmm....the term "Sissy"...isn't that term used by adolescent young boys desperate to prove their manhood? How odd...two older women...interesting venacular for their age... :D Oh well...apparently those women have never jumped out of their skin when they walked past a fence with "Cujo, defender of the homeland" on the other side...lol Francie |
They don't have a yorkie...only people who don't have one and don't appreciate them would make such a stupid comment. |
