Ya just wanna slap some people I took Ramsey to the vet today...she's perfect, btw....there's a lady there who asks if she's full grown....nope, she's still a puppy. Then she asks me did I know I could've gotten one in this size full grown. Yea, I know. But the topper, another gal says her girlfriend has one that's grown who weighs 1.5 lbs. and she's gotten a 3 lbs male to mate her WITH. I told her to please tell her friend that little girl is too too small to mate with anyone ever. I really hope tiny's mom gets discouraged by her vet, this board, or anyone who can talk some sense into her. I feel so bad for that small baby :( :( |
no way... she must have been mistaken..... there's just NO way you could ever breed a 1.5 lb female. NO WAY! Let alone a 3lb female! I hope she had her weight wrong. I think yorkies are great at whatever size. I do currently have a 2.5 lb stud and I also have a 6 pounder who was suppose to be my stud but he became too big but he my LAP baby and watches TV with me every night! I LOVE him anyway.....geeeeez People can be so dumb sometimes. By the way, we need new pictures of your baby! I guess you're keeping that name! WHat a amazing story of fate! |
Oh my gosh...no way would I ever breed a 1.5 pound yorkie and let alone never ever would I breed with a male that is bigger than my females.... I hope someone changes her mind as this scares me to think people think like that.. |

And since you asked.... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35738 And yes, her name is staying Ramsey ;) |
What an idiot! Who cares about size anyway? Lexy is 3 lbs. and Peanut is probably about 7 lbs. I think they are both adorable and love them both! I would NEVER breed a 3 lb. female, much less a 1.5 lb. little girl? Why don't these people just buy hamsters and carry them around? :( |

That's funny!! :D I think people just "think" they know better when they really have no idea about the health issues with the tiny ones and know nothing of the breed standard!! If they did they would know that a three pound yorkie is outside the standard let alone a 1.5 pound one!! I hope, like you do Deb that she gets an education from someone before she actually attempts to breed that baby!! |

I'm sure she just did not know. In many animals the male is bigger, so she probably had no clue that this was not OK. Hopefully now that you mentioned it to the friend she will relay the information. And they will at least start asking questions. |
You're right, she needs a slap! So glad Little Miss Ramsey is doing great!!!! Get any sleep yet Deb? :asleep: :asleep: :asleep: LOL I bet your having a great time!!!! Hugs to Ramsey!   :hearts-xx |
That's disgusting. I bet we can take up a collection and get you some bail money if you want to go back and smack her real good. I'll chip in! ;) |
