My husband was the one who introduced me to getting yorkies and he pushed me to start breeding yorkies.... after he saw I much I love them and how I take care of them. And my husband is a yorkie lover and he LOVES my babies but he isn't hands on.... if you know what I mean. He doesn't cuddle with them and walk them or even do much with them.... but he loves them. It's hard to explain..... but I don't think he'd even own one if he was by himself but I guess he likes to have them around and he gushes about them to his friends and patients (he's a dentist) but I am certainly the one the babies all run to.

Hmmm, that sounds just like how Katy got my husband on board. Now she has quality garage time with him.

He will come around, I know he will, once she proves to him how smart she really is and once she gets out of the puppy stage everything will be fine. It has to be! :p

Denise, I'm so sorry to hear about you losing Chole, how awful! I thought greenies were safe, my parents have a pug and he eats one of them everyday and has for a long time, I'm just glad my Kloey don't like them!
I'm glad you have Parker in your life now, I'm sure your hubby is afraid of the heartache again, but hopefully he will come around!

My husband isn't too crazy about Reuger. It's not so much that he doesn't like him it's just that he's not happy about having a pet in the house. He does pet him but doesn't go out of his way to love on him. My husband really likes a clean house and a house pet just doesn't fit in a clean house. We have big outdoor dogs and I know that he has loved each and every one of them. I know that my husband is jealous of the way I treat Reuger. He admitted it so I try to not give Reuger a whole lot of attention when my husband's home. I have to remind him that I got Reuger to keep me company while everyone else is going to work, school, and etc. I really think that once Reuger is completely housetrained my husband will have a better attitude about him.

My husband fell in love with Bandit at first sight. He acted like a big boob around him, talking baby talk and loving on him. When Bandit died and I got Tucker he was nice to him, but he really didn't act like he did with Bandit. Tucker has won him over though. He said the other day that he loves Tucker but he's not Bandit. To me, they are both the same, I mean I love them equally. But not Kenny. Although, when he found out about the surgery Tucker has to have he told me he cried in the vet's office. My kids accuse me of loving Tucker more than them and I always say He treats me nicer.

My fiancee complains because when I come home from work I greet Nikko first before him. He whines about how Nikko gets a hug and kiss before he does. Uh, excuse me but if he ran to the door to greet me the way Nikko does maybe I would kiss him first. :rolleyes:

I could be standing at the door with a pucker the size of texas and my husband will run straight to our 3 year old son..lol..i'm glad he loves our kids but HEY OVER HERE hehe..
My husband likes everything in order too. He thinks dogs belong outside. I think he would feel different about them if they were...BUT they aren't nor will they ever be..besides dont they realize that part of our animal lovin nature is what makes us who we are..me loving pets runs over into me being a soft hearted person period..i'm not just that way with my dogs..i that way with everything..i just have a nurturing personality..
Besides I ABSOLUTELY HATE HUNTING..because I dont' beleive in killing something so beautiful. but my husband beleives in it and loves it so i don't criticize him for it. The only thing I ask is that he doesn't make me cook it or eat it..and I prefer not to see it..

my Tootie actually warmed up my hubby to dogs, he LOVES Tootie... when I got my lab, 5 years ago, he pouted at us for months... then, Tootie was the 4th added to my 3 dogs and 1 cat. I bought him, THEN told the hubby and just flat out told him, "I dont want any lip about this, it is done"... he didnt say anything but laughed and laughed the first time he saw him. Now, Tootie sits at the end of my bed, waiting for him to come home.... it is really cute and he wouldnt do it if he thought someone was paying attention...
