Beware scamers I just want to let you all know that i recieved a fake money order for a puppy it looked sooo real!! even my bank cashed it!!! Luckly I found out from western union that it was a scam when they couldn't take delivery and wanted me to return "thier" money by western union. Unfortunaly they sent money for the puppy to be shipped also and that money I did send to them after I keep my price of the puppy so I not completly out but there's no fool like an old fool I'm going to bank tomorrow and see what they can do to help me. Just don't take no money orders for your puppies!! all I can say you reap what you sow and my god repay them double for what they have done and are doing. |
That's so rotten! I hope they can catch them |
Oh yeah... I used to be a bank branch manager, and this same thing happened to a couple of my customers. They felt a little funny about the transaction, and did not lose their money as they did not spend the funds until they were sure the check had cleared. Thank goodness! Good luck! |
That is really terrible. So, you're out the shipping costs of the puppy? I hope somehow someone can help you get your money back, but it could have been a lot worse. Imagine one of your puppies in the hands of these so-called people!!!! |
Yeah I went to the FBI they said this has happened alot, England won't help us catch them because their attitude is that "as long as it's americans getting ripped off they don't care" my bank is looking into it for me, but the con-man tried to get me to refund the money for the puppy, but western union smelled a rat and put me wise. When the so called buyer called to day I called him a ----. I hope my bank has fraud insurance and I won't have to pay the $900.00 |
Well, I must say, that is a terrible attitude for the Englanders to have about Americans. They wouldn't appreciate it, if it happened to them, and we took that attitude. I ,too, hope your bank has fraud insurance. $900.00 is a lot of money to lose. It's hard to know who to trust these days. |
how dispicable!! :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown i hope you can get your money back. some people... |
|
Wow. I really liked the game played with the scammers. Served them right. But I must say, I think I'd be afraid to exchange e-mails with these people. |
We need to be able to take money orders occasionally - so, perhaps we should just treat them like checks - and wait until they clear... Carol Jean |
These scams are really common. The problem with just waiting for the money order to clear is they are so good that your bank will clear them and then the original banks that they are written on finally catch the fake and from what I have heard it can be several weeks before your own bank is notified and the money retrieved. So you think all is well and several weeks later you have a debit on your account. Often they send a money order for more than the purchase and just request you refund the excess. They are never interested in what you are selling, it's just all about getting you to send them money. |

I am very confused here  |
this is a common scam going on all over. not just with dogs, but with all kinds of stuff. a friend got caught in one of these, she was selling some furniture and put the money order in her account waited the number of days the bank told her and a couple extra. 2 weeks later she had a neg. 2000.00 on her account. the bank said nothing they can do and she has to pay it back. i wish i had known before it happened to her and i could have warned her, it has been on the news a lot here. any, any, any time someone sends you a payment and sends more telling you to send them back the extra it is a SCAM, so beware. |
I am not a breeder, so I don't have to worry about getting scammed accepting a money order, but I did buy a pup, and had it shipped to me, and I was told that Paypal was safe, and they also have insurance fraud. Could you maybe accept Paypal, so you don't get burned again??Just curious. I'm very sorry this happened to you, but I agree, they will get their just desserts!! |
Gloria Jean, let this be a lesson to you as a breeder, GET TO KNOW the people to whom you are sending your precious babies off to live with BEFORE you accept any form of payment from them. A babies life was at stake here, you seem to be missing that point. Breeding is NOT about the money. It is about bringing lives into this world. If you are going to take anyone's money and send them a puppy..then IMHO you don't need to be breeding. By the way, why are these puppies CKC instead of AKC? |
what does IMHO stand for? My dogs are CKC because that's the way they were registered when I bought them. |
I think it means "in my honest opinion" but then again.. I stink at internet short cuts.. But I have to say that I agree DazzlinYT.. I'm sorry that you were scammed but your main concern should have been your babies.. I mean, if these people were going out of their way to fool you and take their money back then just imagine what they might do with your poor baby!? IMO if your babies well being isn't your #1 concern then I don't believe you should be breeding at all. I am not a Breeder and would never claim to have even 5% of the knowledge and years and years of experience that true Breeders possess. But I do know that if you're more upset about the money scam than your babies safety and placement then you should NOT be breeding at all. expecting a butt kicking after this.. opinions will do that I suppose.. |
I only posted "beware" so that others would be taken advantage like I was: and to tell the whole story would days as this was NOT just a phone call and then bam!! I am concerned about my pupppies and want them to get great homes, but if you and others would just read the news section (on this site) like I did earlier today-- you would see what I mean about "beware" but if this is the "butt kicking" I'm going to get for just trying to warn others, FORGET IT |
what is with this...... Why does everyone think that she does not care about her pups just because she got scammed out of money????? I don't get that at all, how does one lead to the other. If they scammed her out of money they probably never had any intentions on getting a puppy, just money. The people who scammed my friend were not really buying her furniture, they were just cheating her out of money. People on here are starting to be extremely judgmental and harsh. |
We run into the problem of bad money orders and bad cashiers checks. Most of the time you can call the bank an verify that the money order is valid and not stolen. |
that is just plain awful !! people have some nerve, and some ppl have no care in the world ! I hope they find these people |

pretty judgmental people on here, If we could read people's minds then we could protect our puppies and ourselves, It is hard to be this way but guess we will just have to turn "Investigator" & give everyone the third degree before we let them have our babies, usually the fakes (Scammers) quickly lose their temper and their real personality comes thru if we ask too many questions. I wish you luck and say a prayer you find your justice. Dian |
