out of control hair Help! The first time I got my female yorkie groomed (at 12 weeks) they shaved her. Now I CAN NOT get her hair to grow nice at all, it's all over the place. What do I do to fix it? |

i have no clue ( maybe they sell hair straightener for dog's ? ) |
Have you tried using a spray on conditioner spray. Chris Christensen sells a good one Ice on Ice. You can find them by googling Chris Christensen. |
patience, patience, patience and the CC products are UNBELIEVABLE! I've been growing Ginger's hair out (it takes forever) and it was looking so bad I couldn't WAIT until a week was up each time to give her a bath! She'd look better for about a day after her bath. Well three things happened. 1. I got lots of support from yorkie-talkers who told me to hang in there 2. Her hair grew past that really, really ackward stage 3. And I finally listened to all the posts and bought CC products. Her coat has NEVER looked this good. ALSO, post a picture...seeing everyone gush about how cute she is anyway will help you get through. |
I noticed my girls finally started looking ok when they were over a year old...the puppy hair can be a little wild... give it time and keep brushing...Good products DO help alot and the ones already mentioned are the ones I've been using for a long time...they're great |
First of all - your puppy's being "shaved" when she was young - didn't affect or cause the type of hair she has now. She would have had this same new hair anyway. My pup is 7 months old - and I have deliberately kept him short and will for quite a while. It's just easier for both of us and it keeps him looking neat and clean. My pup does have silk hair. So, if I do decide to let it get longer, it should be relatively easy to care for. Nevertheless, I am sure longer hair is more work. I just don't want to go there yet! Carol Jean |
