what tricks can your dog do i use to have a yorkie that was so clever, he could learn anything play dead ,bark, sit ,stay ,come, beg ,dance, smile, clime a ladder, do a rolly polly :D what can your lovely babys do? :) |
NOT alot, and I know it's my fault not his :( He will sit, stay, speak, spin around in a circle, spin in circle on hind legs, shake, BOWL- roll things back and forth, fetch, NOT big on come, he'll come when you say, just not close enough to touch him... Wow his list is longer than I thought. :D |
My Lucy is 5 months and she knows.....sit, laydown, roll-over, speak and she knows how to fetch... she learned all this quick but we havn't taught her anything new lately since we got Tank. She stays to preoccupied now, she doesn't want to sit for us half the time now.LOL Crystal |
ahh :) funny i never showed my yorkie to do a lot of what he could do he would watch other dogs and then copy them :D he watched my brothers dog one day when my bro was putting a treat in his hand mixing it up with his other hand and then my brothers dog would put her paw on the hand that had the treat in it and the first time i tried it with him he did it :) |
Pippa sits, fetches, speaks and will play bite my labs feet on command :D |
Coco is a quick learner. Lately I haven't had time to teach her more but here's what she does so far, all on command: 1. walks on her hind legs along my side 2. dances on her hind legs 3. turns in circles on her hind legs 4. spins on all fours 5. takes a bow 6. rolls over 7. sit, down, stand 8. lays on her back on command for belly rubs and kisses 9. kisses on command 10. talks back 11. gives paw 12. crawls on the ground 13. covers her eyes 14. stop command, stay command, come command 15. She goes potty on command 16. she can swim 17. fetches MY LITTLE SMARTY PANTS |

ha ha yeah mine are good at leaving little yellow wet patches about the place :D |
funny some dogs are just so quick to pick things up and others just cant be bothered as my other yorkie i had at the same time as the clever one wouldnt do anything she use to just think god im cute look at me now give me sweetys :D |
Jake has super hearing. you could whisper the word "treat" two rooms away and he will make a mad dash in the room bouncing in the air...... he keeps me laughing. :D he also knows sit, speak and go to bed. |

Jasmine doesn't do any tricks but I do. When she barks I jump up and get her something to eat or drink, or make the boys leave her alone. I sleep on the edge of the bed so she won't be crowded. I let her lick me all over the face. etc. etc. I do lots of tricks for her. |
Molly knows: "Leave it", "Sit", "Stay", "Spin" and just recently "Come Around" (walks around the back of me to other side where she sits, her 'bow') I'm downloading it to Dropshots so hopefully I'll post it within the next few minutes along with some more recent pics. |
The cutest thing Shelby learned is the word "hide" I tell her to hide and she ducks down in her purse so I can zip it up. |
Debbie knows a lot of words and will sit on command but my son's favorite trick is the one he taught her. She will bite me if he tells her too and it's not that play biting. He thinks it's so funny but when he moves out someday he will be leaving me with this ornery little dog. |
Joey knows: sit stay wait down settle come walk nice (loose leash) heel (well, pretty darn good) go see go potty go get (mommy, daddy, son1 or son2) finish stand bang, you're dead high five get your toy get your ball get your bone hand me your toy go to jail (laundry room) got to bed on your blankie where are you supposed to be? (on his blankie in a down-stay during mealtimes) fetch look (eye contact) leave it drop it find it go around left (look left) left spin walk the plank over jump up kisses fix it (rights my son's remote control vehicle) attack (bites my son's hands gently) quiet (Usually works. If that doesn't work, 'shut the "f" up' usually does!) and last... you're conceited (nose in the air) |
LOL, edit: I was feeling pretty proud of Eddie's list until I saw that FirstYorkie was posting at the same time and had TWICE as many skills. Joey is such a showoff! j.k., Joey is Eddie's hero! I had never been able to train a dog to do anything beyond sit, stay, heel, but Eddie has turned into a learning machine. Of course, he's been through 34 straight weeks of obedience classes. 1. Sit 2. Down 3. Sit stay 4. Down stay 5. Heel 6. Run 7. Come 8. Around (He walks around me and sits) 9. Come back (same thing on other side) 10. Spin (Jack taught him that) 11. Shake 12. Dance (he's still learning) 13. Where's Eddie? (He comes to me when my back is to him and sits between my legs) 14. Watch (he keeps his eyes on me) 15. Walking down 16. Jump 17. Backward heel in a circle 18. Sideways heel |
Cali can make my money disappear!!!! |
which dog? lol Bouncer knows LOTS of tricks, Lotte is only in her 3rd class of puppy pre-school haha |
Bobo sits, sits from a lay, goes see someone, and then comes back on command. speaks. Cocoa will speak. but other than that is pretty bad boy. Picks on all the others. |
the only trick china does the only trick china does is tricks me to what she wants when she wants buit how do you tell those eyes and cute little faces no. |

My experience is exactly the same as yours. Before Joey, I had only ever taught a dog to sit, down, speak, and ring the bell to go outside. I never even got as far as stay and heel. But Joey is so dang smart! If my interest weren't lagging, his list of tricks could easily be double what it is now. As I've told our trainer, the only limit to what Joey can learn (IMHO), is my inexperience as a handler! |
lol looks like we got some clever dogs out there :D |

Oh, that's too cute! Ginger knows sit, stay, down, wait, paw (shake), bow, roll-over, heel, come, touch. She also knows some basic agility (if only her HANDLER were more coordinated) |
