Making hair softer and smoother?
 
is there any food supplement or product to make my yorkies hair smoother and softer, please help

I use missing link. I get it at Petsmart. It is good for the skin and hair. I dont know if it makes the hair softer though. Both of my yorkies have a soft coat.

I heard to add a tsp of olive oil to there food and that helps there coat and if you have other dogs that shed.

I use Missing Link also. Good stuff. I've definitely noticed an improvement in Bridget's coat and skin since I started using it.

I too use Missing Link, but haven't really seen too much of a coat difference. The best product that I have found for that is Lipiderm. After just a couple of weeks I saw a HUGE difference!

Also, just a note to those who buy Missing Link from Petsmart and Petco, I buy mine from either Pet Edge or entirelypets.com and it is 1/2 the price. :thumbup:

Try Grizzly salmon oil for dogs. It is great. I have only used it for 3 days and can already see a difference. The first time she ate it she got the runs but since then has been fine. you just put some on their food and they gobble it up. Roxi eats more now than before the salmon oil, her vet said its becuse the salmon oil taste really good to them. Good luck

Has anyone tried Dream Coat? It's a food suppliment. We sell it at work and several of our customers use it. I'm sure you could find it online. I've never used it personally for my own dogs but we have a customer with a flat coated retriever that had really flakey skin and dry rough fur. She has been using it for several months and brought the dog in for grooming last week. Not a flake on her and her coat was beautiful. It felt really silky and was very shiney. Big fat old dog but beautiful coat! Also my boss has used it when she was showing her poodle and said it made the coat really nice and grow out fast. She had tried to use missing link but I guess you sprinkle it on the dogs food and her dog wouldn't touch it but her dog likes the dreamcoat taste on her food. Now that I think about it I may just bring home a bottle to try.

I give a little bit of extra virgin coconut oil. I have used it for about 3 weeks now and I do see a difference in his coat. He also loves the taste of it. You can buy it at the health food store.

I just switched dog food to Natural Balance - the sweet potatoe and salmon kind. It has fish oil in it and I can see a definite difference after about 4 weeks. I am really impressed- Pebbles coat is much shinier and silkier.

Fish oil definitely works you can get it at your Vets.

I use a aloe vera concoction.. works really good for their hair!
