Are there any other growth charts besides YorkiePassions? I really appreciate the one posted by YorkiePassions, but I'd also like to look at another one just for comparison sake? It seems strange that this is the only one out there? |
There are many on the web, but they all have the same information. I think doubling their weight at 3 months seems to provide pretty accurate results. |
So, is it pretty accurate that a 9.5 week old puppy weighing 18 oz. should stay around 3.5 pounds? What about if his parents are 5.5 pounds apiece? |
My little boy was 9 ounces at 8 weeks, and 1 pound 7 ounces at 3 months. so he really grew during this time period. He is now over a year (continued growing up to the year, but some stop as early as 6 months and I think most stop at 9 or 10 months) and weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces so he weighs more than the growth charts predicted and more than 3 months doubled. It really doesn't matter what the parent's weigh. His parents were 3 and 1/2 pounds and 4 pounds. It's more what's in their background. If the parents have had previous litters that would be your best approximation. If yours doesn't grow much in the next 3 weeks he will probably be around 3 1/2 to 4 pounds, but he could easily reach his parent's size. My best guess would be 5 pounds. |
That is good, I would prefer a good 5-6 pounder but will be happy no matter what... |
I would say 5 pounds or so also, mine was extremely small at three months but grew almost 3 times her size, she weights 5 pounds now, of course I probably feed her more then normal. She is real small at 5 pounds. |
