Someone help us!! We are back to day 1 :( Hi Everyone..I am hoping someone can help me!! Buster will be 6 months on the 20th and he ws doing sooo well with the potty training, going on the paper and when its warm enough for us to go outside, does really good outside...and now..for the past couple weeks, he has been just going where ever he wants when he wants. WHen we wake up in the morning and when I come home for lunch and breaks, he does good on the paper but when he is out and about when we are home he is a little pee pee machine !!! I dont know what to do:( I reward him when he goes on the paper and outside and when he does go where he isnt suppose to, I tell him Im mad at him and "no pee pee on the rug" in a stern voice and I ignore him for 10 minutes. He knows he is not suppose to do it bc he runs under the couch and hides.. I just dont know what else to do. We are enrolling in petsmart obedience school this week but they dont do anything with potty trainig in that class... PLEASE HELP!!!!! |
He's at the age where he might be starting to mark. Is he lifting his leg when he goes? Does he just go a little at a time? |
I know just what you are going through!!!!...Lizzy just turned 6 months and she was doing awesome with going outside or on the pee pads but the last couple of weeks she too has been going anywhere she feels like it and also feels bad when she is caught...if you find a solution plleeeaaase let me know. i feel for you..... |

another idea Just read on another thread something that might work. She was trying to get her 2 year old human to stop spitting out her food at diner. From a dog training book, she put pennies in a can and shook it each time the child spit out the food. It cured her quickly. Maybe, if you catch him peeing, try the pennies in a jar thing. Let me know if it works. |
Maybe you could try belly bands. Many dogs won't pee in them after they've done it once and that would save on your carpet. You can put a cut down pad inside the belly band and just put a fresh one in when need be. Take it off him every couple of hours and see if he'll go potty in the appropriate place! Good luck! |

I wonder if it would work on my two year old daughter  Never thought of that!!!!!!! |
I think you have to decide if you want him to go outside or inside on the pads. I think it is confusing for them to go both places. It is not too cold if you want him to go outside. They get used to going out in the cold. Our little guy is 4 1/2 months and he is going outside all the time. We have had it as cold as -27 and we take him out to his area. We haven't had an accident in weeks. |
