The rituals Does your Yorkie have daily rituals? :Puppy2: Mitzi has a few so far. Ritual #1: The shower. She comes to the bathroom every morning and sits on the edge of the bath while I take a shower. (Occasionally she sits IN the top half of the bath enjoying the spray from the shower) Ritual #2: The toothpaste. She stands on the edge of the bath, front paws on the sink and waits there until I give her a tiny little taste of the toothpaste on my finger. She then has to wash it down with a little water, which I use my hand to redirect so she can reach it. :interesti Ritual #3: The toilet. She moves to the toilet and if the door is open she steals some toilet paper from the holder on the wall. (I don't know why this is a daily thing, but it's funny anyway! LoL) :grin2: Ritual #4: Breakfast. I have a bad habit of leaving the refrigerator door open while I get the milk and yogurts out. Mitzi takes full advantage of this. Today she stole a cucumber. :eyebrow2: I didn't realise she wasn't in the kitchen with me as I was a little late and so I was concentrated on getting it done quickly. When I did notice she was missing, I found her in the bedroom, on our bed, with bits of cucumber EVERYWHERE! She'd eaten about half of it and was using a large chunk as a throw toy! She has in the past also stolen lemons, a zucchini, carrots, a large green onion (that was too funny, she hasn't touched an onion since then!), two oranges and huge chunk of cheese that I put in the wrong place (I have never done that again :)) Well, there ya go :) The rituals so far! She never ceases to amaze me, LOL! I look forward to the next 16 or so years, just to see what she's gonna do next! :woof: |
One of Bugaboo's most favorite ritual is to nurse on his toy "fuzzy bone" every night before he goes to sleep. :dogzzz: |
Jack's still creating his own rituals because he's new in the house. As for our other guy: 1. Eddie walks sleepily out of the bedroom when I get up and lays in his doggie bed in the living room. 2. After 30 minutes, he jumps up on the chair so he can see out the window and bark. 3. 1 hour after getting up, he walks to the rear door and yelps to get out and do his business. 4. He stays outside until his barking annoys me and I call him back in. 5. He expects a treat for doing his business outside and coming when I called him. 6. He mills around at my feet until I take him for a walk. 7. He returns to his chair and barks at everything until I go to work. He has a whole other ritual when I get off work at 1 a.m., but I'll spare you. |
LoL! Creatures of habit. I love how they have routines and stuff. It makes it easier for me when I'm half asleep and zombie like to know in advance what she needs. Although she does throw me curve ball once in a while :D |
Not sure if this counts as a ritual but Pippa will not go downstairs in the morning until i go down, even the kids going downstairs and calling her doesnt work. :D |
I was thinking of posting this the other day, then forgot, after watching some of his rituals.. -Get to work and he whines for me to pick him up and put him on the desk, then goes to sleep, so I can do nothing, so I get on YT. -Spins in a circle and gets as close to the edge of something to poop, fence, curb, street. Has to be right on the edge. -digs and spins around finding the right spot when we go to bed, until I say " Enough" - When we come to work on Mondays he runs in break room, goes from guy to guy, smelling and kissing, then jumps in same guys lap, every morning, but only does the greet everyone on Mon. - If he barrels out of a room full blast, I can bet he's left me a present in there. I'm sure I'll be back with more, when I remember them. |
This is funny. My gang start barking and climbing all over me in the AM when my alarm goes off on the weekdays. Then on the weekends, they bark and lick me at the same time (5:30am) even though the alarm didn't go off..ugh! Creatures of habit I guess..lolol |
