I Didn't Know Yorkie's Could Climb???? Suggestions? Hi - I put my 9 week old puppy in the bathroom behind a baby gate and my husband came home and accidently hit her with his shoe - luckily it didn't hurt her, because she had escaped from the bathroom. Any suggestions on what to do? I hate put her behind her a closed door. |
My suggestion is to get a large crate or an Xpen and make a cover for it. |
wow you have a talented yorkie ! LOL my opinion is... to be safe when you or noone else is not home, I would put her in a crate, Kloey is in hers durning the day and now that she is in heat, she is in it at night as well, but you may think this sounds mean to leave them in the crate, but really all they do is sleep, and it would be better to get her use to this since she is only 9 weeks old. If not she may hurt herself! |
perhaps stack two baby gates. I doubt she could climb that high. or just get a piece of plywood and cut it larger than the doorway then prop a chair or something against it, so she can't move it |
Thanks for the good advice! |
my yorkie's a climber too. :D i ended up getting a second gate that's taller and with bars only so he can't climb it. but i had to double gate it, one in front of the other, for a while 'cause the bars were wide enough for him to slip through at first. sometimes i'd put the ecollar on him so he can't slip between the bars if i'm too lazy to double gate. i didn't try stacking 2 gates one on top of the other because i think he'll try to climb them anyways. i'm afraid he'll fall back and hurt himself. |
