The T.V.
 
When you are not home do you leave the t.v. on for company? I have a huge electric bill and I think it is because at least 1 tv is left on ALL THE TIME and a small light so that he is not left in the dark while I am at work. Does this make a difference or am I complelty out of my mind :confused:

Hi,

I leave the tv on for penny, when i am gone... Never gone for more than 4 hours. But I think it helps make her feel not so alone. And yes your electric bill probably is reflecting that. You could try a radio, it might take up alot less power.. Just a thought :aimeeyork

Actually, the TV doesn't take up too much power, depends on the size and how long you leave it on for.

As for the light, maybe you can try using energy saving bulbs.

Maybe it's because it's still winter over where you are and you turn on the heat for most of the day???

My tv also runs for mine too. anything for my little munchkins!
I think it helps them.

I have a radio on in my nursery. And my TV is on during the Day.

We do the radio too! I have it on a light jazz station!!!! Nice and calming! LOL!!!!! I guess we will try anything to help keep them relaxed when they are home by themselves!!!!

I leave my TV on also while I am away so they feel like there is a human voice there with them even if it is just the TV.And I also leave on a light on in the house if I go out at night.I know that it makes me feel better to do this. Cathy and Yoshi plus scottie Mctavish and doxie :D Zelda

Yes, i leave the TV on for about 9 1/2 hours a day for Harley and Haley, Mike and i work long hours so if they get bored with each other they can watch TV ;)

i keep the tv on all day for lexi, the cartoon network.. it runs from 7:30 am
to around 10pm till i go to sleep....

I think its very sweet that you are leaving those things on for him. I do the same thing, that way he can hear people and see some lights. I think its mean to leave thim home with nothing on at all.

Our furbabies are always with us,
but we do leave the radio on all the time for the birds. :D

I don't leave anything on because Daisy has my mini pin Rambo to keep her company. They finally are getting along. I think it's great to leave any form of comfort for your furbabies, and what better way than the T.V or even radio. It may run your bill up, but it's worth it. I know I would do it for Daisy if I had to. ;)

The TV and one light shouldn't give you an extraodinarily high electric bill. You can probably find a lot of other ways you can bring it down.

Yes I leave the TV on while I am at work. They seems to like Nicklodean. Never Animal Planet. They bark at the other dogs.

I leave the TV on too. They watch NBC, I'm trying to teach them how to tell me what happens on Days of Our Lives! :) hehe
