Yorkie Size Are there yorkies out there that are larger than 10 lbs? |
You betcha. I would bet my Logan is at least 10lbs, but I haven't weighed him in quite a while. |

There are lots of different size Yorkies. I have seen form 2 pounds up to 16 pounds. Big or Small, they all have a heart of gold. :yorkiesar |
Thank you soooo much!!!! All of your replies make me warm and fuzzy. :) I recently took my Baby to a kennel for boarding and the owner made me so upset. She told my that I couldn't possibly have a pure bred Yorkie because Bishop was too big. Then she repeated numerous times "He's the biggest Yorkie I have ever saw". |

Punkin weighs 8 pounds (at 10 months) and people tell us all the time that she is REALLY big for a Yorkie. I still think 8 pounds is pretty tiny. She is the right size for us and we LOVE HER! That's the most important part. |
I have two large sized yorkies, Snickers is 8 lbs and Baxter is almost 13 lbs. They are both purebred yorkies from reputable breeders. Yorkie litters come in all sizes! We actually prefer the larger size because they are not so fragile, but it's a matter of preference. It's really funny to see the yorkie personality traits in a bigger version. They are all beautiful! |

My Tad is a big yorkie he weighs around 16 lbs, Hes a bit fat from being neutered. A few years ago I took him back to the breeder and showed her how big he was and she acted like I was lying, that he wasnt the pup i bought from her. Needless to say it really Peed me off that she acted like that, But it doesnt matter the size of any of them they are the best dogs ever. I will always have a yorkie, there is just something about them that cant be explained, they are just too much like humans. I swear mine understand every word I say. lol Even when talking to the hubby they know what im saying. |

I see this thread is old but I just wanted to post this link regarding Yorkie standard sizes (not to exceed 7#): Silky Terrier Vs Yorkshire Terrier - Proven Methods to Tell Them Apart If your 'Yorkie' is larger than 7#, it is probably a 'Silky' and not a Yorkie. |

I used to have a larger Yorkie years ago. I have not had a dog ever since "Cricket" passed away in 1995. We recently brought home our Pomeranian puppy (Ty) in January and our little Yorkie (Princess) in April of this year. Larger or smaller.... just love my pups! |
