You might want to do a search.I remember this thread a good 3 months ago and if i remember right a lot of people said it didnt work.Try a search. |
Hi I searched and didn't find anything :( |
I saw that at Target the other day and was wondering the same thing! I hope someone knows :) |

We use a product called spot shot. It works wonders. We do make sure we keep Punkin away from the fresh cleaned wet area for safety though. It takes up old pee stains in about 60 seconds! http://www.wd40.com/Brands/spot_shot.html Where we live you can buy it everywhere, even the cleaning section at the drugstore. |
I use Urine Gone, the kind you see on TV, and it is great. Smells really good too. I did the Black Light Test and it was neat. I use it in my bathromm too, hubby and the 2 sons dont have the best aim in the world! ;) |
I have used OdoBan products for at least 10 years. I LOVE the Stain remover that comes on the side of the Stain Control gallon jug... |
I paid $21.00 for a bottle of Urine Off at my vet's office (it was about the size of a regular bottle of windex). It does work for odors (I didn't ever try it for stains because I have wood floors) however, then I discovered Odo Ban that Whisper's mom talked about at Sam's club. Alot cheaper and it sells by the gallon and works just as well. You can even add it to your laundry! |
I use and love odorban too. My cat sprayed my carpet and it took it right out. |
I have used Get Serious with good results in the past. Got old stains from Nature's Miracle up with no lingering odor. It is a bit of a pain to use, as you have to rub it in and then blot, blot, blot, but, it does work. Also a bit pricey. |

porkieyorkie, you ight have been kidding about the shoes, but, I pour pure OdoBan in sneakers or gardening boots, etc and leave them outside for a while. Then scrub them with any old brush that has a handle on it--sorta like a toothbrush for a giant!- and hose them out and turn upside down to dry. I won't say they smell spring-rain fresh, but it does help tremendously. There are 2 things that my kids swear if I couldn't get my hands on, I would go stark-raving mad--Odo-Ban AND duct tape.. |
I've tried spot shot, nature's miracle etc. Looks like I will be looking for OdoBan at Costco when I go there next. Anyone know the cheapest place to purchase some? |
I use Get Serious. It is a stain, odor and pheromone extractor. Very economical to use as it doesn't take much. First purchase is pricey, I bought a gallon not knowing it took so little. It removes the stains (even old ones) and doesn't just cover it up. I bought it at Petsmart, but they have a webiste www.getseriousproducts.com. You squirt it on (do not soak), brush it in for about 20 seconds and them blot with a towel - you will actually see the yellow on the towel. Works great!! Have tried Spot Shot, this is better. Have never tried odoban. |
I've heard that Odoban is excellent but haven't found it in my area yet. |

Earlier this morning was the first I read of this thread. While at Walmart today Urine-Gone was sitting on a display. It's the product that comes with the black light. Being overly curious I picked up a bottle and patiently waited all day for it to become dark to use the light. The black light is to show all the urine spots, feces, blood, etc left by humans or pets. Hmmmmm...Ok, I find myself a VERY CLEAN person and keep a well kept house. This light almost made me sick to my stomach as it proved me wrong. There were so many small potty spots through out the house I ended up using the entire bottle. I found it interesting that no spots were in the living room. (trust me not complaining) But all 3 bedrooms, bathrooms, and the service porch where we keep their potty pads had more spots than I even wanted to count. The Urine-Gone has removed the spots. You just spray it on and let it dry. No blotting needed. So, I will let the spots dry and tomorrow night check to see if the spots sprayed earlier came back. I admit...I knew that my Schatzie and Ransom have made a few potty errors but geeeeeezzzzzzz the black light proved to me that I want new carpet now. Seeing all the spots made me feel so dirty and as if I don't keep a clean house. "The Light Don't Lie" as I kept saying to myself as I squirted each spot till the bottle ran dry. :( Oh also...Just out of curiosity I tried using the Odo-Ban that is spoken so much here on YT on the spots. That worked also. I in NO way wanted to come here to post by admitting that I found gobs of potty stains, I am somewhat ashamed. However, I wanted the rest of you to know that so far this Urine-Gone seems to be doing the job. So...Any body else use the black light in their home?? Anybody wanna fess up as to what they've found? LOL :D |
Schatzie, you are not alone! I didn't use the blacklight but about two months ago we replaced our carpet. Seeing the underneath of the old one was the most SHOCKING thing I've ever seen. I was thoroughly disgusted to find out EXACTLY where Macey was peeing when we weren't looking! I can't believe I was walking around on that. That's why we got a spotbot the day after Lilah came home. I even asked for one for my birthday, so I can have one in my apartment :p I'm also going to look into the products mentioned on this thread. |
The only stuff I used that worked was Proklean, Iloveproklean.com, I have not used the odorban though. |
I will try Urine-GOne, but try Spot Shot. We tried soooo hard to get stains off the carpet when we were moving. A realator I know suggested it and it works WONDERS!! It lifted stains that had been there for 4 years, including a huge red stain that we thought would never come out. I use it for everything now! Nothing beats it at urine stains, and we had tried just about everything before. |

Ok, test results are back in. I DO NOT like this Urine Gone. In fact, it's awful!!! There was never a "urine smell" or carpet stains prior to me using this product. Now I have stains and a tremendous urine odor in the hall way and our closet. Ugh!!!! All this product did was bring the urine to the surface of the carpet. It was NEVER this bad until I used this product...So, this morning I have mixed a solution of bleach/water and used our carpet shampoo machine so far in the closet. Waiting for that to dry then I will attempt the hall way. BTW, you can only use bleach on light colored berber, any other carpet used w/ bleach will be ruined. Berber is made up of mostly plastic fibers. This Urine Gone product is just terrible and now we may be looking at replacing the carpet. |
OMG Schatzie's momma!! It's too bad it happened that way! My sister is a buyer for Wal-Mart...I will mention your bad experience to her and maybe she can pass it along to whoever buys for that department. Times like these that I'm glad I have all wood floors and swiffer wet!! :-) |
Ahhhhhhh thanks for posting that follow-up Sheryl. I have been looking for this thread to see if anyone else had posted to it. Sorry about your carpet :( I think I am going to check out OdoBan |
