Upset about Daisys coat 1 Attachment(s) I'm really quite upset about Daisys coat.. She has no hair!! :( I see all these beautiful babies, especially Chanel and Cheri and their beautiful coats.. I just went out today and bought Omega 3 to see if this would help bring her coat in.. She's 18 weeks and these little 6 week olds have more coat then she does.. Anything else that anyone can suggest on top of the Omega 3 please let me know.. Here's a picture of her currently.. Now, mind you I did take her to the groomers on Tuesday and took some off, but it was hardly anything and we did it to try ane make her coat come in.. |
Awww Lynn, just give the fatty acid a little time. But remember that it can help her coat to improve, but if she just doesn't have it in her genetics to grow a full coat she never will. How are her parents and grandparents coats? |
Go and give her a bath with Natural Oatmel shampoo from the dog store, it works like a charm! |

Robbie is right...it's all genetics... but you can do your best to keep her coat looking good by using good products....and she looks very healthy to me....Cheri's hair took a long time to grow - while Chanel had really long hair by 1-1/2 years old......She does look very easy to maintain and that's a plus :) |
Maybe its something to do with the name Daisy Mae bc my Daisy Mae does not have hardly any hair either. Chloe has a body full of it! I dont know what to suggest bc I am looking for the same answers that you are! |
My baby Tori was in the same boat, I did find thing s that helped but she still doesn't have a full coat. Give me a minute and I'll find you a thread that I posted awhile ago. |
My Jewels hair grows fast but Chachis grows slowly. |

Good luck, the Lifes Abundance food is 1 of the best, it is human grade food. My poor Lexi can not have it anymore, she has to many food allergies. :( |
DaisyMaesMom -- I understand your dismay. I have always thought it is amazing all the different sizes, colors, hair types, and hair lengths (including different cuts) that Yorkies come in. I swear often we can't tell that we are looking at the same breed. My pup's hair grows very fast - but so far I have kept him in a puppy cut. So, he has short hair too - except for his face and legs. But - with Yorkies - I just think what we get is what we get - to a point. And - aren't they all darling - Yes, they are!!!!! Your pup is really a cute, slender, little girl. And, I can't help but think that she will have more hair growth as she gets older. She really isn't very old now. (My pup had extremely thin and oily hair when I got him at 8 weeks - that has changed to a wonderful coat.) I wish my Yorkie's ears were smaller, and he weighed a pound or two less, but he is sure cute the way he is. I don't want a tiny little Yorkie, but I think about 6 pounds would be just perfect. And - I think mine is going to be a little bigger than that.....a bit....a bit.....a bit...!!!! Hang in there - you still don't know for sure what your Yorkie will be like as an adult......they certainly do change! And - she's cute right now!! Carol Jean |

OK, we're trying out Daisys new food and Omega 3 now... Watching to see if she seems to like it. She's a little piggie so I don't think that we'll have a problem.. |
Well, she's eating it, but very weird.. Almost like the kibble is too big for her.. I guess it might just take some time getting use to it.. The kibble that she was on was a bit smaller.. Anyone know? She almost acts like she does a little choke... |
