What do you use to weigh your babies.. I took Daisy by the vet this morning to pick up some Omega 3 and while I was there I asked them to weigh her.. They told me that she was 7 lbs. now, 2 weeks ago she was 4.5.. I just want to get a clear pic of her weight so that I know what to feed her.. She doesn't feel 7 lbs to me, but who knows... |
I weight myself on my scale and then hold Bailey and weigh myself and subtract the difference. So far it has been pretty accurate with what the vet gets when he weighs Bailey. |

When Millie was smaller I used a counter top digital scale. I used to have to put a pot on the scale, tare it to zero out the pot weight, and then I would put Millie in the pot. But I have not done that for a while now. I think she would be too big to fit in the pot! :D |
hello I bought a pet scales from Dr Foster & Smith. It cost $49.99 for the small scales course when I weighed my newborn pups for the first time I swore the scales had to be wrong..i thought no way something could weigh that little lol You can check the scales out at www.DrsFosterSmith.com they have alot of different things. |
I run to the post office and weigh mine..................they have a scale by the stamp machine. Guess I need to get one form Dr foster and smith soon. Angie |
I just let the vet weigh them now seems like they only gain or loose and ounce or two. |
I weigh Twinkie with a postal scale. It works for me, but these only go up to 5lbs. |
I use my postal scale that I got from ebay to weigh CHloe. I use my own scale to weigh TInk because she is bigger. I just weigh me, and then weigh me holding tink and then subtract my weight. |

DaisyMaeMom -- Something is wrong. One of the weights was off. If she weighed 4.5 pounds and gained 2.5 pounds --- that is more than a 50% weight gain. I just can't imagine how a pup could gain that much in the weeks. Anyway - if the current weight, 7 pounds is correct, my pup has probably reached or is getting close to that. I think it's a wonderful weight. He is large enough that he gets around very safely and can hold his own with anything. He is still easy for me to carry - and still seems very small to me. I use a "diet scale" for measuring food. It only goes to 7 pounds, but has a 9 or 10 inch bowl to put the puppy in. It works really well when they're little and at just under 4 pounds I can still get mine weighed with it. It was a bargain at $9.99 and that was at a grocery store, probably cheaper at Walmart. |
