Does anyone else have problems with their Yorkie and obsessive licking.

Toby starts licking our hands, feet, carpet, beds, walls, bottles in fact anything and keeps licking until we distract him to do something else. :animal36

My Yoda LOVES to lick my skin, but not much else, unless it's a bone. It can be problematic, and I believe obsessive compulsive behavior if they are constantly licking. How old is Toby? Does he drink enough water? Dehydration may also result in a Yorkie wanting to constantly lick.

Jewels licks alot too. When she starts licking our face it is a good 15 minutes untill she stops

Ruby loves to lick too. She will lick your face, clothes when you are wearing them and pillows.
The pillow and clothes licking grosses me out so I try to stop her from doing it. But it's a daily thing.

Yes, not only does he lick himself and us it is also the carpet and couch! I hate it! I wonder why they do that??!!! :cool:

LMAO...My Snitch does the same thing. My familt calls him the Exfoliator, even if you tell him to stop, he sits as if he has ants in his pants and mouth, He is deperate to lick and he tries to eat my hair :tongue:

Licking
 
Toby is about 3 years old. We got him from a rescue centre who had in turn got him from Police in Wales cos he was found wandering, poor lickle sausage!! :thumbdown

But he is obsessed with licking, he's just had a session now, you try to stop him but nothing gets in the way of his licking :p

Obviously we don't know his background and can't say whether he has been abused etc, but he's a happy lickle thing, he wants to please all the time and he loves his toys just not the cat!!

Yep, Eddie's a licker too. I used to count the hand licks to see what his record was, but I got bored counting at 200 licks.

The dog blog kiss is fantastic! It may be my favorite.
