Teeth I have a question Lexi is one and i try to brush her teeth three to four times a week, i was brushing tonight and i saw nasty plaq build up on her back teeth aparently i have not been doing a good job but it is so hard to get back to the back teeth, she had nyla bones the blue one that helps clean her teeth and other chew toys as well as eats nothing but dry food....is there anything else i can try to keep her teeth clean, any other chew toys recomended or products that have been successful to others....i just hate for her to get bad teeth. |
Yes, the plaque buildup can build up pretty quickly. It is quite hard to clean the back areas of their teeth. We take Yoda in about once a year for teeth cleaning. Yoda's dentist gave us some solution (vet prescribed) to use to clean his teeth as well... Good luck! |
I take Jazzie for Veterinary cleaning once a year too. This year they gave me stuff called "OraVet" that is prescribe. I wonder if its the same stuff F.E. got? I've seen some offices has professional teeth cleaning people come in to do through cleaning once a month. I guess they are like Doggiehygenists! This would be a no anesthesia cleaning. |
I'm still waiting to catch Mitzi at a good moment, I can't get near her with a brush! LoL!! She likes toothpaste, at least its a start. :D How on earth do you get them to let you clean thier teeth? I'm gonna have to tie her down! LoL! |
Well we haven't had lexi for a full year yet and we were talking about having them cleaned when she gets her yearly shots in may. I just hate to put her under for them to clean her teeth i guess i was looking for another alternative other then me brushing bc i am not doing so hot i guess. she doesn't fight me while we brush her teeth, she is very good i just can't get back in her tiny mouth and scrub that well. |
Princess has a visit once a year with her Vet, and once a month her Groomer will clean her teeth. We brush them every morning, she didn't like it at first, but she loves it now. Next time you see your Vet, you might want to ask what treatment they think will be best for her. It could be just changing the tooth paste. Good Luck to you!!! :teethysmi |
