Ouch...bur in my sock! 1 Attachment(s) Feel a bur, pick up your Yorkie!!! Where I live in Washington we do not have many bur bushes. Camping in Oregon we took a walk along the Columbia River. I felt a poke in my sock. Pulled the bur out and kep walking. Learn from my mistake look closely at this picture! I had to rip Starr eye holes through her fur. I fugure she 1000 burs from her head to her front legs...mostly on her face. Since we were camping...no scissors, I doust her in mayo ( a trick from my equestrian days to remove sap) and went at the burs with the flea comb. 2 hrs of tugging at her fur and a very greasy dog we were done. She burped mayo for days...New nickname thanks to my other half...Jose hey Mayonaise and Raymond Burr although Starr is female. |

Ouch! Poor Star....worst day at the hairdressers for her! Francie |
Lovely burs!!! :thumbdown Mojo hiked his leg on a "bur bush" along our walking trail one day - talk about a mess! - He couldn't walk or anything! That wasn't very fun - needless to say, some of his long locks were cut, so they were different lengths. During the same, we try to keep Mojo in a puppy cut or close to it - we are avid outdoors people and we are constantly outside during the warm weather. Plus, I'm a BIG FREAK and I have a doggy first aid kit + our first aid kit - heck, I even keep one of those small travel rolls of toilet paper in a waterproof or ziplock bag, even if we canoe or hike or on fourwheelers! |
