Different Kinds of Yorkie's? I was just wondering.. if there are different types of yorkshire terriers.. i've heard of irish yorkie's or something.. because Ginger is purebred yorkie, but her mom was like pure blonde yorkie.. so is she still purebred or yea? lol sorry for a dumb question.. i just don't want to have gotten lied to. |
The only other 'yorkie' that I know of that is different than the normal yorkies you think of when you say the word yorkie is the biewer or german yorkie. Here's some links: http://www.geocities.com/bieweryorkieassociation/ http://www.biewercoa.org/welcome.html |
I would say she is a purebred yorkie but just that not like the standard determine..having the wrong colors or type of coat does not necesarily means they are not purebred... |
There arent "types" of yorkies although some breeders DO make it sound as if there are;) Iv heard ALOT of fancy names but at the end of the day and yorkie is a yorkie no matter how you look at it.Some have blonde coats, some have silver coats, some are on the big side..some are smaller etc,but they are all yorkies:) Neither of my yorkies are in the standard which really doesnt matter unless planning to show, but they are both purebred:) |
It sounds like the mother of your yorkie is a full bred Yorkie. But when the mother was born her coloring was brown and tan which changed to the color of blond when she got older. I have one of these color yorkies. When she had pups the pups are usually standard even though the mother is not... Just because the mother was not the standard does not mean it's not full bred...Not to worry i don't think you were lied too. |
