Human Behavior in Your Yorkie? Jazzie watches TV. She can tell the difference between dogs, cats, horses and cows. She will run to the TV with the "Come play with me!" bark when she sees dogs or horses. With cats & cows she just growls... Our family and friends get such a kick out of her reactions! Oh! She also eats corn on the cobb like a typewriter... one row at a time! What does your baby do that is unusual for most dogs? |
Bugaboo nurses on a fuzzy bone! :secret: |
My girl would eat like a pig all day if she could. |
Mitzi sleeps hugging her little stuffed panda toy. It looks like she's hugging it anyway, lol! :D She also likes to watch TV. She loves the pan pipes too. There was a program on the other day. A guy playing the pan pipes, she was sat right in front of the TV with her head tilted to one side, really concentrating on it. :D :D She looks like she's going to answer me when I talk to her too :D I think she will one day! LoL! |
Sometimes when I'm watching TV and being a couch potato and Brownie is at the foot of the bed all comfortable, I'll call her over. She pretends not to hear me at first, then when I keep calling her, she'll come over - unwillingly. Then, she'll give me an annoyed look that says "What the heck do you want?" When she's at the office with me, she'll sit on my papers until I give her attention, or she'll purposely walk over the keys on my keyboard. Sometimes I take Brownie to karaoke (we have small rooms here, so no one else except your friends can hear you sing, LOL) and when I sing, she'll sing with me. It's quite funny......... :p |
bunjee will sleep in his crate in the bedroom on nights my husband's home. on nights he's not home, bunjee likes to sleep in bed with me. he'll try to jump onto the bed and expect me to pick him up to sleep in bed with me. if i tell him "no", and tell him to sleep in his crate, he'll throw a fit and leave the bedroom to sleep by himself in the kitchen (he has another bed in the kitchen). i guess it's his version of "fine then! be that way!" |
Too Cute !!! Chanel Smiles for REAL. When she's happy...she smiles....When she wants something...she smiles.....when I ASK her to....She Smiles .... :D it's sooooooo cute seeing every single tooth - She will look right into my eyes and pull her upper lip up so I can see ALL her teeth ...both uppers and lowers....I've never seen any dog do this. |

LOL :p :p :p :p I can just see him doing that too.... |
Edie attends staff meetings at the office. We meet in the conference room once a week--about 10 of us. Edie sits in a vacant chair and is just another employee. Sometimes, she gets up on the table, walks over to one of her chosen "favorites" and sits on his/her lap so she can get a little shoulder massage during the meeting. |

...and they say dogs don't speak "human"... i think we've quite a few yorkies that proves the contrary! |
omg...this is the funniest thread. I have typical puppy....it does remind me of the kids, but its tpical puppy behavior! |
Tino sleeps on his back with his head on a pillow in bed AND under the covers. Also, most of the time when he sits down, he sits back on his bum, not like a normal dog. And when you talk to him he cocks his head to the side as if he doesnt understand what your saying. He watches TV too. Strange little pup he is... |
These ARE so cute....I got another one :) When I sing....my girls DANCE their butts off...they have favorite songs and all I have to do is sing the first few words and they are instant Boogie Girls...shaking their booties all over the floor :D |
Thor watches T.V. It's so cute... :p |
I was just thinking about this yesterday. On weekends I swear Bailey gets down and kinda depressed, Since he comes to work with me (m-f) He kinda mopes around, doesn't get too excited, Gets tired of JUST ME, and no action all day, and all the attention he gets here. And when I go somewhere he has to go in his crate. :( But on Monday morning, he knows IT'S TIME,and he's going to work, and he's all excited, ready, sitting at the door, " Is it time, can WE go?!" WHO get's that exited on a MONDAY?? |

Bailey does that too in the morning when we get to work, all the guys are in the break room and he flys out , UP on the picnic table, and greets everyone wanting a butt rub ( squirms around and pushes his butt at people until they scratch his butt. ) but then ends up in the lap of the same guy every morning, then does the same when they go on break, BUT sits on a different guys lap then, he has a routine. |
Let's see, Gracie is pretty good at giving dirty looks and farting/burping. When Rebel wants your attention, he will paw/touch your face as if to say, "PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!" Pups just play so I haven't seen anything yet. Both dogs love green beans and potato chips (though they don't get many chips and definitely not often). And, they are my couch potatoes. |
Toto acts totally human!! Like a spoiled brat ... she is a perfect example of tooooo much spoiling! We have been trying desperately to socialize her with other animals and she will have no part of them!! :( It breaks my heart for her and I know, absolutely, that this is the one mistake we made for her .... no animal interaction and I just pray it isn't too late. She can be around 5 playing Yorkies and she just snubs them! She will look at me or Patrick like, "help me, these animals are touching me!!" We laugh at her because of her "Prissy" ways .... checks to make sure all her "stuff" is in place and fresh .... wee wee pad, water, beds, etc.! :p Does she exhibit human behavior??? Most days!!! ;) |
Loyalty... Pepper sleeps in her crate at night, when she is let out in the morning she immediately runs for my bed to see if Mommy is there. She often wakes me with a Yorkie face-wash....lol I went away for a night and in the morning, my hubby told me, she ran to our bed looking for me. She wouldn't get off the bed, she was waiting for me. I haven't had Pepper for vey long either, so it amazed me at how quickly she has bonded with me. Reading the other similar stories, my lil' Pepper does the same thing tilting her head when we talk to her. I have taught her "treat", "sit" and "be good" which is when she is racing around the house for a treat I say "be good" and she sits pretty for her treat. Truly an asset this adoption has been. |

It was too cute! |
These stories are way too cute! Zeus hogs the bed and if you bump him, he growls, gets up and goes to sleep in his dog bed. He won't come back to bed unless you go to him and apologize and ask him to come back to bed! :p My husband says he gets that from me!! |
What a fun thread! I would just LOVE to see Edie attending staff meeting. How cute! Yes, Bridget does exhibit lots of human behavior. Mornings are especially tough for my little one. She doesn’t like it when mommy gets ready cause that means she’s leaving. She’ll lay on my bed with her little chin down and the most pitiful look on her face. Just breaks my heart. She gets loads of love and treats in the mornings. If she’s asleep and she gets nudged too much, she’ll give you the one eye open dirty look… “um hello, I’m napping here”. She likes TV too. Was captivated by the ice skating that was on recently. I should have taken pics, she would just sit in front of the set mesmerized – and would bark when they did a jump or when the audience started clapping. We all got a big kick out of that one. |
Chloe is quite the one for dirty looks (my d/p is one of the only times this look was caught on camera *note the drama queen hair*). She also set a bed time that both her and my mom must obey (usualy around 9) but if my mom dont listen to her she runs out glares at my mom with this "COME ON!" look then runs in again. If my mom still dont listen ...look out  She also loves watching T.V. |
Mojo has human looks and actions - like the annoyed look - the oh my gosh, I'm soo happy look/action - come on, I'm waiting look - the oh boy, a treat look, etc. :aimeeyork He gets annoyed if you keep calling him or pick him up to do something if he doesn't want to - ummmm, must like my daughter! :) He gets aggravated when he is asleep and you accidentally touch him, he gets up and leaves....only to come back in alittle while and snuggle. I loves to watch tv - even though we are not big tv people - he will sit up or lay on his pillow and watch tv - he'll even beg to have his food there by him on the couch - course, he always as his "special" blanket with him too. Sometimes, I think he is just dying to talk - he will try and try to actually make some sort of noise. Course, he does have an outside noise, an I'm ready for bed noise, etc. He does tilt his head and twitch his ears when you speak to him. He is very spoiled and has a certain little whine - it is cute, but it is a WHINE so it is just like a child whining!!! |

Dan and Corrine - My dogs don't miss much on TV - they especially go crazy when a "doorbell" rings on TV. They think we have company. I'm glad your pup likes corn -- make sure she doesn't eat the cob. I let my Bichon pup chew on a cob once and he and I were up all night with the worst tummy ache you can imagine. I literally carried him around like a baby all night. Later, when he went to the bathroom, the pieces of cobb had gone through him - totally undigested...large pieces! No wonder he was so uncomfortable. Carol Jean |

Cookie will sleep in a spooning position with me ,just like my hubby does. He will NOT fall asleep unless his little body is touching me! He will let me know if he wants me to follow him. He looks so funny. He will wisper bark in a high pitched noise and when I look at him he will stare at me and turn his face and shows me where to look. He'll do this several times until I get it and follow him! When he wants to eat or wants me to change his water bowl. ..He will go to the bowl hit it with his front paw. Pick it up with his mouth and drop it so I can see what he is doing lol.He MUST have fresh water 2 times a day in his bowl! Gosh if I let it pass for one day it's like I'm giving him dirty old water! lol He is one of the few dogs that I know that actually truly enjoys getting dressed! Genie |
