She gets the shakes!! I think she is mad at me!! Hi I Have a question, Tinkerbell is almost 12 weeks old now( I got her when she was only 6 weeks) and she very healthy but there is something new going on, I was staying home but started working recently, I work from 9 to 3, my jobsite is about 2 minutes walking distance, and my boss lets me come home for my 30 minute brake, when i get home she is shaking and crying, like she is mad, I hold her in my arms and she stops shaking but keeps crying, she only does this when I work(monday thru friday) on the weekends she never does this. I have noticed she is clingy, I have a maltese male(4 months old) and he is fine playing, and falling asleep on his own, but Tinkerbell when she is tired(sleepy) will come to me and start crying till I pick her up and finally falls asleep in my arms, then i put her in her bed and she is fine. Is this normal? I live in South Korea, and the vet we see speaks very basic english so it's hard to ask these questions. Maybe someone can guide me. Also she is 20 oz is that a good weight for her? she is very energetic and eats like a little pig(since the day i got her). Thanks in advance!! ;) |
20 oz at 12 weeks would imo be on the light side, and you say she eats like a little hog? may I ask , has she been wormed? that might account for her weight and raveous appetite if she hasn't. |
Only 20 ounces is very tiny for 12 weeks old. Chloe weighed 1.9 at her 6 week checkup. She is now 8 weeks and has another vet appt on Wednesday. I know she weighs more now. She has a very healthy appetite! She is a whole 5 ounces bigger than her sister. Her sister weighed only 1.4 at her 6 week checkup. |

Have you tried a little Nutrical before you leave in the a.m. and when you get home in the afternoon? It sounds like she is having a sugar let down - not eating when you are not home. I'd try just a pea size several times a day... It works for mine. |
Jewels was 12 oz when I brought her home. When she was little she would shake alot. She outgrew it though. |
I Don't Think She's Mad... Try leaving a tv or radio on. Also when I used to have to leave Bugaboo alone I left my nightgown with him for my scent. |

Shaking and crying, IF it's an attitude and not a health issues, sounds a whole lot more like anxiety/fear than "being mad" to me. |

As you said she's been wormed and has her shots, I agree with First Yorkie. It sounds like separation anxiety to me too. Bless her little cotton booties :D I'm sure she will get better as she gets older :D |
Today I think I proved to myself it is more of an attitude, I left her in with Chiquito my maltese in their xpen, I normally leave her in the kitchen/living room area(our apt here is small)I make sure she is safe, separeted from Chiquito. We were gone about 1 hour to go eat. I left the TV on and I also left her in with Chiquito as I was saying, she was crying and shaking even though she was with Chiquito :( . I hope its nothing serious and if it is separation anxiety, I hope she grows out of it. Ok Thanks to everyone who tried to help. It normally takes about 1 or 2 minutes to calm her down and then she is fine . |
