question about poopie Hi, my puppy, Poopsie, sometimes has trouble pushing out a #2. I feel bad, cuz she just pushes and pushes! usually it comes out after a little while, but she just tried to go, and it won't come out! There is a little bit sticking out! she must have given up... because she's running around now... hopefully she can get that thing out of there! is this normal? thanks! |
It sounds like she's having hard stools. If this continues your vet can give you some stool softner. I use laxatone for puppies that have hard stools. But you would need to get the dosage from your vet. Good Luck |
Sounds like constipation to me. You know what I've done? I put a little vegetable oil in Baby's water. She licks it up, and the poop slides out. Now, this is just an aid to help getting it out. If your baby is always constipated, there may be a problem or the food needs to be changed. :) |
Thanks for the quick replies! i'll try the vegetable oil. if that doesn't work... i'll talk to her vet... thanks a lot! :) |
You're welcome. :D I'm at work, and I'm being a bad girl!!!! |
haha... u r very NAUGHTY! ;) Update: the poopie is out! |
So glad...if it happens again give her canned pumpkin. |

Nelly sometimes gets at the adult food put out for my older dogs. If she eats even 4 or 5 pieces it makes it difficult for her to poop, she is 7 months old now, how old does she have to be before she can eat the same adult food as the other dogs. |

My vet said anywhere between 10 and 12 months but you need to switch it slowly so they don't get an upset tummy. |
