Eye Question This may seem a silly question, But i was at the store the other day with my Gracie and a lady stoped me. She commented of course on how sweet she was but then she said oh you have the hair cut from her eyes(so the hair doesn't have to be in a top knot) and she then said but can't they go blind faster form no hair down around there eyes. Is there any truth to that? a yorkie going blind from haveing the hair around there eyes cut short? |
sounds like urban ledgend material  I have never heard of that... |
I really doubt it. I love the hair around the eyes but I feel like they can;t see as well due to all the hair covering them which is totally not true but I had Zoe groomed and only cut the hair around the eyes. |
False That lady has no idea what th hell she's talking about. No offense.... I am no expert but I know that that is untrue. So don't pay any mind to it. :aimeeyork |
omg.... that's a good one. |
No! Sounds like a lady who told me (I'm a groomer) to leave little visors or eyebrows over her dogs eyes so he would'nt squint. I ask what happens to dogs with short hair? |
Mitzi is a scruffy little furball, but she seems to cope extremely well with all her fur. When it gets a bit longer I'll try and find something to tie it up with. But she doesn't seem hindered by all that fuzz :D LoL! |
I've let Pippas grow but my friend has cut her yorkies reall short all round eyes and nose. Think the lady you spoke to might be slightly mad LOL |
eyes It is an "old wives" tale..like our parents telling us we were going to go blind sitting too close to the TV. Keeping the eyes clean and free from hair prevents infections, infection could lead to serious eye problems over time..and that could lead to blindness. |
I have never heard of that...I just let people say what they want to say and go about with what I am doing to my dogs. |
