Food left out at night = morning mess disaster? Hello Wise Yorkie Mom's and Dads, I wanted to know how old do puppies have to be before we can remove the food dish at night. They are 11 weeks old and at this time, we leave the food and water dish out for them. Of course, come morning, there is a mess all over! Ugh. With two dogs, it is quite a mess. When looking at the dish, it doesn't appear that they are really eating much of the food during the night hours (after 9:00 pm). Any ideas of when the proper time would be to "lift the food dish?" Thanks, Yorkie Love, Terra |
How old are you pups? When I got Starsky at 8 weeks, I just sat the bowl down 3 times a day and let him eat, then I would pick up the bowl. I have another dog that would have devoured the food if I had left it. Now Starsky eats twice a day. |
I leave Mitzi's bowl down. She's a nibble at a time eater, except at breakfast, then she's a munch the lot gal. :D She tends to take her raw carrots all over the house and try to bury them. She eats everything else there. LOL! |
2 Attachment(s) hahahahahaaaaaaaaaa - I got JUST the picture of what they're probably doing :D this was Chanel her first week with us in Tessa the cockers dish |
We put Samson in his crate at night so whenever we go to bed no more food or water until morning. |
Our puppies are only 11 weeks old. |
