:cry:Very sad news Terry Shumsky was perhaps the most vocal woman fighting the "liver Shunt" and one of the best mentor and breeders ever of Yorkshire Terrier. She and John will be greatly missed. http://www.tsfannymaelivershunt.com/ She had failing health for the past three years as well as the duty taking care of her husband John with failing health. Both were admitted into the hospital on the same day and died within 4 hours of one another on March 26th 2005. She was very kind to me, I was very fortunate she mentored me long distance until she introduced me to Jan Angel. Everyone that met her loved and respected her, please say a pray for her and John as they rest in Yorkie heaven. here are some links about her and also her book published on the Breed. http://www.shooterdog.com/alexfaq.htm http://www.find-a-dog.com/books/index.shtml http://webpages.charter.net/tshumsky805/book.htm http://www.hoflin.com/Annuals/The%20...rrier%20Annual |
Oh, how horrible!!!!! She had also mentor me from a long distance. Her knowledge was priceless and she shared it openly and freely. The world has lost a great person! She will be sadly missed. |
she was the reason i got brownie i saw my first yorkie on her site thats so sad :( |
Terrible news, I also was lucky enough to have her as a mentor, we exchanged several emails while I was looking for my Pixie and learning about the breed... she helped me so much & I use her book as my Yorkie Guide always... She was a great person... always ready to share her priceless knowledge. :lovewings  |
This is absolutely devistating. I'm so so sorry to hear this :( |
Terri and John I liked Terri. When she lived in NJ she attended all the shows in my area. She took time to talk with me any time I had a question..or just to be friendly. I know she made alot of enemies in the Yorkie world the last years of her life, but I feel she was treated unfairly. Her passion for Yorkies and their welfare caused some misunderstandings with other show breeders..the breed has lost a true friend. |
I did not know this couple but will say some prayers. It sounds like she was a teriffic woman and isn't it nice that they both go the same day? One doesn't have to do without the other and meeting on the other side. |
Terri and John will always be in my heart . |
