I have about had it! I have about had it with the peeing in the house. Duke is a big sweetheart. He will be 1 year next month. He is pretty free in the house most of the time and is taken out side to potty. He is in a crate sometimes when I am gone and will not go in his crate. He usually will not poo in the house anymore but he will cock his leg up against usually a chair and pee. I have tried scolding him and taking him out but that does not seem to work. I take him out often and he still does it. What can I do? Janet |
What am I missing on this site Tough pups that will help me? |
Is he neutered? Have you ever thought of getting a belly band for your little marker? You can get them real cheap on most of the members websites. I got some from Rena at www.barkindogclothes.com for my friends boy dog. They work perfectly. I wouldnt recommend giving him full rein of the house anymore. I would recommend only letting him roam for a short short while right after he goes potty outside, otherwise, I would have him in the kitchen or somewhere where the clean up is easy. At least until he learns where he can and cannot pee. |
I have always had male yorkies, and once they reach puberty (around 6 mos.), they will lift their legs to leave their scent. The one sure way to stop this is by neutering them. Some owners have trained their males not to lift their leg in the house, but it can be difficult and depends on the individual yorkie. All my male yorkies are neutered at 6 mos, and the problem disappears! |
I have a male yorkie and had him netured early and he has never lifted his leg in the house. No marking what so ever even when I had an intact male yorkie in the house. Of course the other dog was lifting his leg all over the place. I was dog sitting...could not wait for him to go home. Anyways I would also not give him free rein of the house and when I could not keep an eye on him I would crate him. |
