Jasmine at vet I just dropped Jasmine off at the vet to be spayed. It was really hard to leave her. The vet was holding her and shewas looking up at me with those beautiful little eyes and I just about lost it. I know I'm doing the right thing. She is so little I don't want her to have puppies and risk losing her. I took her to the vet that my breeder recommended as he specializes in small pets, but I still worry. I know she doesn't understand why her mommy is leaving her and just walked off. I just read about Ruby cupcake crying after her surgery. He is also going to remove some baby teeth that hasn't come out I am doing the right thing aren't I? |
You are doing a good thing for her, keep repeating this to yourself. I have been wrestling with the neutering thing as well. Every time I convince myself to do it, my fiancee pipes in and says its cruel and to leave Nikko's "nuts" alone. I guess its a guy thing  Nikko also has retained baby teeth that need to come out. I may just do it despite what anyone says but I worry as well. In the end, you are doing the best thing for your baby and I am sure she will be back to her old playful and loveable self in no time. I will keep you and your little one in my thoughts and prayers. :) |
Thanks. I didn't know it would be this difficult. Everytime I think about her I want to start crying. It's very hard to keep my emotions in check. I'm at work now and don't want anyone to see me break down. Everyone thinks I'm a little nuts anyway the way I go on about her all the time. |
Yes you are doing the right thing! My Pippa was spayed 2 weeks ago and although i too was nervous/upset/neurotic it now seems like a distant memory. |
You are doing the right thing. I still have to get my nerve up and get Cali done. |
Good for you. I hope she has a speedy recovery. Just give her, her pain meds and she should be okay...Of course special treats and extra love is always a bonus too! |
I called the vet at noon to check on Jasmine. He said the surgery went fine and he pulled several teeth. She was starting to wake up and was moving around and trying to stand up but was still groggy. At least she made it through the surgery and anesthetic alright. I told him I was sorry I was such a "Nervous Nellie" but I couldn't help it. Lana |
Bosslady - I think that there are things out little dogs just need to get done. And, unfortunately, sometimes they are uncomfortable for a day or two -- but we still need to get things taken care of. Look at all the things we people need to do to monitor our health and stay healthy. We need vaccinations, colonoscopies, PAP smears, dental appointments, etc. etc. We could avoid all these things because they are uncomfortable - but hopefully, we know better than that. Your little pup will be just fine soon - and all the better for her surgery. Carol Jean |
Great to hear Jasmine made it through the surgery and is doing well. Sending wishes for a speedy recovery. |
I picked Jasmine up at noon from the vets and she is doing fine. She was really glad to see me. She was really glad to be home. I know she is sore, but they said she did really good after her surgery. They also did a blood work up on her, just to be safe. I will find out the results later. They removed some of her baby teeth that hadn't come out on their own. They also weighed her and she weighed a whopping 5 lbs. I'm so glad it's over and she is back home. I couldn't believe how much my husband missed her. She has really won his heart. What is it about these little furbaby's that get to us so much. |
