:( so much attitude Chloe has been spoiled rotten since day one, and oh the attitude its given her. It doesnt help that my mom gives in to her every demand. The other day I put her in a time out chair for snapping at my face, and as soon as i turned my back she was gone. "No" is just an alternate form of "yes" to her. She has selective hearing (and no there is nothing wrong with her hearing, she had all that checked out), she only listens if its "Chloe do you want a treat" or "Chloe, comming in the truck?" if its "Chloe dont do that" your better off talking to a wall. If you do something she dont like you're almost certain to get a smack on you leg with her nose (her way of hitting), and if my mom goes anywhere and leaves her home with me, shes either growling and barking at me the whole time, or lying down in one of her spots, i'm guessing hoping i wont look for her, and when i do find her she usually just gives me this, "sis, tell mama to come home RIGHT NOW or else" look. The only form of punishment she has is what I give her (sitting on a chair for 5 minutes) and thats only for when she snaps (mostly my) face. Shes accomplished walking over my mom perfectly. Dont get me wrong, shes a very sweet baby full of kisses and ready for plenty of hugs, but its just the fact that she never gets in trouble with mom and she takes advantage of it. |
Have you thought about obedience classes? |
haha! oh boy....moshi is the same. 5 pounds and full of attitude. I put him in the corner for time out too. He likes to think he is in charge and will snap at me sometimes, but it all works out in the end. you jsut have to be persistent and work with her. ;) |
Sounds kinda familuar .For me Miss Mini responded faster when i talked gentler and acted consistant , she still goofs once in a while and i have to get in face ..but all in all shes about 99% better . I just thought to myself would i respond to me? And Quickley realized that love always is the answer and the form it takes is important (i think you need to see it) Not so differant in humans .my thoughts anyway ..GOod luck with your furbaby . |
I'm not sure sitting her in a chair is doing any good....perhaps try her crate instead. Another thing you can try is to gently lay your hand on her back and make her lay down for maybe 30 seconds or so with your hand still on her back. You're showing her who's in charge. She's in the submissive postion and you're the dominant. My baby caught on pretty quickly with that one. Good luck. |
About a month after I got Chloe I cant remember what I was doing but I was doing something and I told her no and she snapped at my face! I told her no picked her up and put her in timeout (my little half bathroom) for one minute. When I opened that door she was as sweet as can be and she has never done it since! |
