Sniffles I had a question? I have been sick the last week with a head cold....this may sound dumb but i am asking anyway, Can dogs pick up our germs? Lexi has been walking around the house this evening and it sounds like she has sniffles or allergies or something. she sniffs then coughs like something is stuck but she hasn't gotten into anything and has drank plenty of water and had dinner so i don't think it is something she has gotten a hold of. She is not lathargic, still playing, eating fine just sounds like she has sniffles. Thank you |
I don't think pets and humans can pass cold germs back and forth. :) |
I asked my vet if they could get colds or flus from us and he said no. |
Okay, this might sound crazy.................but I had one vet say no, but another one in the same office say pretty much yes. He said that it might not be a germ passed from human to dog, but something in the air (allergies, dry air, etc) that can cause them to have the same cold like symptoms as us. Which makes sense to a certain point. Mojo has been by my side (or on my chest) through many of my illnesses, but he hasn't ever been as sick as I have or show all symptoms of what I have had....he has had the runny and stuffy nose, cough, etc. On occassion, he and I have had about the same symptoms and the vets put him on antiboitics or something else. |

thank you for the info, I am glad I can not past germs to her but it makes perfect sense that she may pick something up in the air or other places like where i may have picked up my cold. I really appricate the info. |
