Gotta vent..... Sorry! Have to scream...aaaaahhhhhhhh! LOL I am ready to pull my hair out! The boys are barking like crazy! I live in a newer neighborhood where there is lots of new construction of homes goin on! And they are clearing out the land right behind my house. So there is lots of noise and big bulldover things behind there right now and lots of men, and Luigi and Brasco are going nuts! I have shut the blinds, but they still hear it! YIKES! OK--I feel better for venting! Thanks! ;) |
Aw! Poor Mandy :( You should let Weeg and Brasco out to give those men a piece of their minds! :p |
aww lol i hope they stop soon!! i can totally picture them goin nuts... good luck with stayin sane :p |
I hope that they will stop soon that would drive me nuts too. When we open our garage door my girls go nuts too. At least my garage door doesnt make noises for hours! |
AWW i feel bad for you ..cant be any fun :yeahthat: I bet you yourself yearn for peace and quiet ..let alone the doggies .. peace to you .. |
This will sound crazy, but this is what's worked for me. Granted, my situation isn't quite to the extreme that your's is, but it's worth a try. When there is noise going on outside, I make Joey sit and wait at the door. I go out first. ("This might be dangerous. I'm the leader. I'll go first"). I go out, he comes out and barks. I say "yep, I hear strangers over there. It's okay. I'm not worried". Believe it or not, this has drastically reduced his barking. If he's already outside when the noise starts and he begins barking, I go out and say "What is it, Joey? Oh, strangers next door. Thank you. I hear them". If he keeps barking - "NO! (then more softly) that's enough, I hear them". Once I've acknowledged that I hear what he's concerned about in a way that lets him know that I'm not worried, he will usually settle down. However, a "NO! Shut up! I said shut up, you little $***!" says to him "gosh, mom's upset. There must REALLY be danger over there. I better try to protect us.". Try and see. It can't hurt. I'd probably also try lots of stuffed Kongs to keep them distracted. Good luck! |
Tucker has become a barker, too. It's driving me out of my mind. Our other dog has started barking because Tucker does. I feel your pain, it's so frustrating. |
