Curious about this nickname Ok, so Chloe has always had a few nicknames (baby, cutie, brat, sis, baby girl, girlie) things like that, but lately I've been hearing some people call her by something different ..."Cleo". I really dont know what to think about this one, I guess its possible for it to be a nickname for Chloe, but I'm not sure. I guess its not all that different from the other nicknames but shes called those because they describe her, this one is just basically another name thats not hers. I mean, theres nothing wrong with the name, actually i think its an adorable name... but its just not her name. So I need openions, should I let people call her Cleo as a nickname or should i just tell them that thats not her name and ask them to call her her real name? |
No matter what I want, people always call my animals by different names. I'm used to it now, lol. I would just let those people call her Cleo. It's cute! |
Frogknot is an unusual name, but for nicknames I call him Frog, Froggie, and tadpole. I sent out emails to my friends introducing "Frogknot" and soon after that one of my friends stopped in to visit and help socialize this little guy. Well, she misread my email Instead of calling him FrogKNOT she called him FrogSNOT!!! Snot???? LOL She was so embarrassed! Luckily Frog didn't seem to notice the abuse of his name!! |
Good luck, I can't get my hubby to call Sassy by her correct name. He calls her pee-winkle or sweetpea, she answers to just about anything she's called... |
For sure - who cares! My poor pup had at least 10 names the first two weeks I had him. And, I still have relatives and friends who aren't sure what his name ended up being. If I were you - I'd probably correct my friends a couple times - and then let it go. Carol Jean |
I think it depends...if it really bugs you then I would correct them, if it doesn't I would let it slide!! These little guys as so smart, they will learn the sound of their name and as long as you say something similar they will respond...we call Sailor Bear our teddy bear and she knows that when we say anything "bear" that we are talking to her!! |
My dog never was able to get housebroken so we all now changed her name from "lexi" to "Poopie puppy. " We use it so much she now thinks its her name. If it bothers you I would correct them. Otherwise let it go. :) |
