Where to get a good x pen?
 
Can anyone please lead me in the right direction... I want to get a nice xpen for Daisy. I searched the previous threads and didn't really come up with where to get a good one... Thanks for all your help!

If your in the market for plastic one's (which i like best) then I would say go to Toy's R Us. I buy them there very reasonalby priced. Also got one at K-mart once for under 40 bucks. If your looking for the galvanized type (metal) I got some nice one's once by midwest at petedge.com

they are small portable dog pens (play pens) to put in your home to keep your dog in while you are gone, sleeping, or whatever. some people use them for travel and some people use them outdoors to give them excersise without them running loose.

Thanks Robbie.. I didn't even think to try Toys R Us.. I mostly need it for in the house when I can't have my eye on her.. Outside she is never alone so I let her run the back yard.. :) She acts like a wild woman!!

I bought mine at Pet smart. Then I bought another. They go together with snap links, no tools. I put 2 together and now they have a nice size area in the yard that is safe for them.

Lynn, I have found that the metal ones are murder on hard floors. They scratch them and have been known to rust even though they arent supposed to. I'd rather use the metal one's outdoors. The plastic one's for small kids are so nice cause they are light weight and when i clean them, i just take them outside and spray them down with lysol , let them soak and hose them down. no rusting ever. good luck!

I agree with Robbie. I have a metal one and it is showing signs of rust already, I've only had it a year. It also makes a lot of noise when she jumps up against it. I am thinking about getting a plastic one. The only concern I have with the plastic is chewing. Robbie, do the puppies chew on it a lot?

Not really. the way they are made makes it kinda hard for them too. But the plastic is so hard, it wouldnt do much damage if they did. Never had any problems with my plastic one's. I will probably never buy another metal one again. the one's i use are called "super play yard" and they are pretty rugged.

I just looked up those super play yards.. Do you just use one or do you put more than one together?

I use one. Now I will say that I've bought two before and taken them apart to make two smaller one's. I had to have two to do it because I needed that one extra panel to make it all work. (two perfectly square one's, with 4 panels) Now when you get one in the box, it's bigger than what I'm talking about that I do sometimes...so one is all you will need. (6 panels, 2 on sides and one on each end) You can take it apart to make it smaller or you can use it the size that it is.
