Sibling Rivalry Hey all! Lately my 2 little ones ages 6 1/2 months and almost 1 1/1 yrs have been fighting over their toys! Last week I bought them each the same toy in a differant color, and they will only play with one of them at a time. Espesially if Louie has the toy, Bella will go after him non-stop to get it and he stiffens up and growls at her. It is like she is teasing him or something. I will try to get her attention away from him and onto the other toy, but she wants not part of that. She wants what HE has. Just like little kids. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this behavior...... :( I have resorted to taking the toys away completely when they behave this way. |
My girls do the same thing, they will be playing fine together and then one of them will go and get a toy and then the fight is on. I will go get another toy and try to occupy the other one but they always just want the same toy. I just try to ignore it unless things get nasty then I will take the toys away and put them in time out. I dont know if it ever gets better but I hope that it does. They fight like me and my sister used too!! |
My oldest dog who is 14 years old still tries to take toys from Nelly, who is only 6 months, I bought them the same toy as well in a different color but he still tries to take hers. |
MY two do the same thing. I just let them fight it out. |
My two girls do the same exact thing...we used to try and intervene but have found that they will work it out themselves if you let them, we just make sure that they are not going to hurt each other (which has NEVER happened)!! Magic trys to steal all of Sailor's toy and we just let Sailor stay up for herself and get her toys back.... |
My two older ones do this all the time, they play fight until they get tired. They've never hurt each other. I only take the toys away when they start flying off the backs of couches getting away from each other, then, I think that's more dangerous than letting them fight it out. |
Mine tease each other and fight over everything. One will pick up a tiny stick from the yard and start tossing it and acting like it is the best toy, and before you know it, they will all be fighting over the stick. I find it pretty amusing. Acorns, socks, toys - anything goes. Just don't let them play with a roll of toilet tissue. |
mine do too. |
