what now???Harley lifted his leg on my husband... Last nite my husband was playing on the floor with Harley... He is 6months now. We were trying to get him to come with his toy. Well he was whining at my husband and kind of argueing with him with these little noises. anyway finally he brought the toy to my husband and jumped up on him and lifted his leg and peed right on him, I just about died, I laughed so hard I was choking. Well it really isnt funny , but, It seems my little man runns my little life. of course we took him right out side. I told my husband dont freak out , just tell him no pee pee on daddy. My harley hasnt even been lifting his leg, I thought I would get lucky and let him think he was a girl. Why is he doing this? Just when I think he is poody trained wham..... tell me what you think about this... |
Sounds like he is marking your husband. It could be that he sees your husband and you hug and/or kiss and since he was on top of your husband while on the floor playing, that being on top was a show of dominance. He just sealed the deal with the pee. I'm not an expert though. But that is just what it sounds like to me. |
He might be starting to mark, since he is 6 months. Rocky is 6 months also, and he has been doing great with the potty training until the other day when I caught him going pee-pee on the fireplace right after I took him out. If you planing to get him fixed, I would say right now is a good time to do it. |
I was thinking about the dominance thing too. But, heaven help us if he startes the lifting the leg on the furniture, my husband will freak out. I got him fixed Jan 15. so I did that so he wouldnt lift. also when we brought him home from getting fixed, he ran in an got his lamb and started to hump it. He was still druged and could barely stand , and was tryin to humb his lamb. we laughed our butts off. But, this isnt funny really. what to do now.? |
My advice to the dominance display: Tell your husband to never position himself beneath the dog's eye level. when they play, your husband should (without huring him of course) flip the dog on it's back and tickle or rub the belly. Placing a dog on it's back and forcing it that way is a way of showing who is the stronger of the pack. |
My Little Mickey has peed on My hubby 2 times. and he just loves His daddy. Hes just letting him know hes the boss. lol |
Ummm...I think he was showing your husband who was really boss!!!!!! :D |
OMGoodness! LOL so sorry! |
Let me tell you this dog is the boss. I had to take him to the vet agian today because one of his stiches was poking out just alittle. The vet told me that Harley is a very submissive dog, he pees when scared. I told him this dog is the most spoiled dog in michigan. I dont even raise my voice to him. I have to get him to get a treat when I get the leash or go to pick him up, he slumps down to the ground, I dont really no if the breeder lady abused him or if he is just shy. But when someone comes to the door he acts like he would tear there heads off. I tell them to ignore him till he settles down , not to even make eye contact. that seems to be working good, but, he is velcroed to my butt, when someone picks him up he wont let them hold him long, he squirms to get down and looks at me the whole time. I am like oh man, you are my baby boy. dont touch him or else you will die a slow death. I am the crazy yorkie lady now, my kids are grown and they wish they were harley. |
o to funny my granddaughter yorkie started raiseing his leg before he was even three months old if she catching him doing it she say ok now cockalot stop that |
