Orajel?? Chloe is really starting to teethe. She is biting on everything and seems to only be satisfied with something in her mouth. I have tried the teething toys and a wet wash cloth that has been in the fridge but she wants nothing to do with them because they are cold. Is a little Baby Orajel okay for them? I tried doing a search but didn't really get an answer. Thanks!!! |
I would talk to the vet before using orajel unless someone here has gotten an ok from a vet. Meds that deaden in the mouth also deadens the throat creating a choking hazzard. |
I have wondered that too, Midori has lost all four of her front bottom teeth at the same time! She looks like a little old lady! We can't help but tease her saying, "how ya gonna bite me with no teeth!" Ha! Ha! She has like 8 holes in her mouth where teeth are starting right now and I know it must be killing her! I was thinking that since it is o.k. for babies that it must be alright for our furbabies. But I am too chicken to try. |
I think that I would talk to your vet before using it! |
I really dont see how it could hurt especially if you used baby orajel but its probably best to get the okay by your vet. |
I would definitely ask a vet too. Puppies systems are waaaay different than a babies. Speaking of babies though....sometimes if they won't teeth plastic or a rag something cold to eat helps. I know they make puppy ice cream that is frozen. Or maybe if you just give her an ice cube (size she can't choke on of course) she would play with it enough to numb her gums a little. Good luck! |
I use OraJel for everything.. Boo boos or whatever. I have not used it for its real purpose, however, so let us know what the vet says. I figger if it is safe for babies, it is safe for my Yorkie babies... |
