Changing color??? Hi, My Molly is 14 weeks old and I was wondering when will her fur change colors? I like her balck and tan fur though. Crystal :aimeeyork |
The coat on her head will start changing soon. Then the rest of her body could take 1-2 years to change to adult coat.. |

By 4 months, mine had changed to sliver and a light tan. But -- she had been trimmed several times - so the newer colors there for the world to see. Check your Yorkie's roots from time to time. Any new colors coming in will appear there first. Carol Jean |
Before I got zoe I kept asking for a black and tan yorkie with silver on the head thinking that would be his color forever. He is now months and the silver on his head is increasing. I was dissappointed when I found out that yorkies changes color but I love my Zoe and his silver head gives him personality. He is my world now. I have no life because of him...hahaha. |
Yeah, it's amazing how much their colors will change. Matthias has a lot more tan coming in on his face now whereas when I adopted him, it was very minimal. |
Yorkies certainly do change colors. Mine (sliver and a light tan now) is beautiful. Again - look at all the different Yorkie pictures here on YT - you'll be surprised at the beautiful range of colors. Carol Jean |
YeP Tiggers hair on his head went from silver to a very light tan. |
My Cece is 7 years old and is still black and tan for some unknown reason, I'm STILL waiting for her to change colors, LOL. But, I still love her all the same ;) |
Mitzi is a blondie! LOL! Her face is very, very light tan. It looks like her body is going to be silver. Lord knows if her ears will ever pop up! LOL! She seems to changing color quite fast lately. Her body was really dark when I got her, but there is soooooooooo much silver on her now, it's amazing. |
