Need Help Applying Frontline Flea Medicine Can someone please tell me how to apply the Frontline flea medicine, I got the first application free from the vet but it did not come with instructions nor did they tell me how to apply it. Would it be okay to bathe him first? Will it leave a residue behind on his coat or be greasy? Thanks so much! |
Hi, Here are the instructions, although I also save just a few drops to add to the back rump area! I call it the backdoor protection.. :D Do not bathe your dog three days before or three days after applying Frontline Top Spot. ... INSTRUCTIONS: To Remove applicator from child-resistant package. Use scissors. Or lift and remove plastic tab to expose foil, then peel down. To Open applicator. Hold applicator upright and snap applicator tip away from face and body. To Apply FRONTLINE Plus. Place applicator tip through animal's hair to the skin level between the shoulder blades. Squeeze applicator, applying entire contents in a single spot to the animal's skin. here is the link :) http://frontline.au.merial.com/faq/dogs/index.asp |

to young? How old to the pups need to be before you can begin to use flea protection? My baby is only a little over 10 weeks but she keeps scratching her head and neck like there is fleas. Doc has checked for mites and said she is all clear. I have bathed and used a flea comb on her but she still scratches. Any sugestions? |
My baby scratches like that sometimes, vet said he was free of fleas and parasites, so is it just dry skin? and dry skin only in his neck/ear area? |
that I am not sure of. I have had her checked and she seems to be ok. However I am new at this and I am not sure exactly what to look for. She is fairly oily, not sure if that has anything to do with it either. ideas? and how can I tell if her skin is dry? |
You can use the frontline spray! |

So not to worry!! Im not sure of the true reason they scratch, but here is a link that covers itching to licking :) http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/itch.html |
My puppy is on medication for Parvo. Mostly naseua medications..etc. The names are Amoxicillin and Flagyl. I have a frontline flea and tick treatment I want to use on her b/c i found a tick on here the other day, and i forgot to ask my vet if it's ok to use it while she's on her meds. Anyone know? If not I suppose i can call my vet..just wondering. Thanks! |
If it were me, I would avoid putting it on the rump, the vet has always advised me to apply it between the shoulder blades and that is also what the instructions say. They must advice that for a reason. But if you feel comfortable applying it there as well then do so. You might call and ask your vet. |
