Uh-Oh!! Chloe is HUMPing Tink! Need your opinion Wow Chloe is really humping Tink alot! She's never done this before today(to anyone or anything). At first I couldnt help but laugh (I guess Im immature or something) but its kinda funny. Poor Tink just takes it, she sits there with her ears down. When I make Chloe get off of her she barks at Tink like she's ticked off or soemthing. Im starting to think we have spoiled her rotten, when she doesnt get what she wants, which is aparently Tink right now, she gets pissed and barks. :D She's almost done with being in heat. Do you think she is just humping becasue of that? Or will this be the beginning of a problem? Tinkerbell isnt very happy :( |
hehe (sorry I know it isn't funny)! Hallie does that to Simon every once in awhile, it's like she goes through stages. The behaviorist said it was a dominance issue. He just takes it. Sorry I can't be of anymore help :) |
I don't have any experience with this I'm sorry! I just wanted to say poor tink! |
If my girls were humping each other I would probably die laughing, poor Tink hopefully it will pass when Chloe's heat cycle is over! |
I have that with Bell doing that to my Male (Petey) and I did some research and it seems that they are just telling them they are the boss!! But mine don't really do the Humping action more like just get in the position! It is funny, but it worried me too! |

It really is sort of humorous and I could laugh a little more if it werent for the fact that Tink looks miserable. Chloe looks hilarious though :D . I thought it could be a dominance issue at first but thats kinda strange because chloe already dominates this house and she knows it  |
So do ya'll think this will continue forever because so far Chloe wont let up :( |
I doubt it! Hallie will do it for a few days then forget about it. this happens every couple of months. poor Tink, she needs a good place to hide! |
Its a dominance issue  because my maltese humps my female yorkie :aimeeyork at times and also my male yorkie, :aimeeyork both of them just look sit there and let her do her thing! |
I've not seen a yorkie do that before but Tigger (my family's miniature schnauzer female) used to hump every other female dog she could get ahold of when she was in heat. Her libido has slowed down in her old age. She's going on 15. NEVER wanted anything to do with a male though. My mom just says she's her little lesbian and tries not to let her traumatize everyone else too much. |
Poor Tink...Chloe is being a horn dog! :D |
Chloe is having a rough week! I would still make her stop. Mine seem to go through stages, as soon as one gets better - another starts up! We have a fake barking thing going on. One barks and makes the rest come and bark with. It was teddy, so I keep saying 'Teddy!', and yesterday he was just sitting in my lap. It was Quattro. So today I keep making Quattro come to me. Maybe it's just time for mis-behaving - the weather or something! I know I'm ready for a break. |
I always know when my Chloe is about to come into heat as she starts humping our golden retriever  She does it during her entire cycle but she does stop after a few weeks. Hopefully your Chloe will stop soon too. I think it is very humorous too, especially since Bo is ten times bigger than Chloe and often stands up while she is doing it and Chloe takes a little horsy ride. LOL! |

I was just telling Chloe she needed to go hump Penny instead becasue penny could care less and it would entertain momma ;) :D :p Just Kidding, Actually we are telling her to stop and we are pulling her off of Tink. I really dont want to encourage this behaviour  . |
Humping is a stress relief. It sends wonderful hormones through the body and makes the dog doing it feel great. It is a sign of aggression and needs to be handled gently. Try distraction and more excersie for the little one needing the rush. I also have a look at Feeling Outnumbered? How to Manage and Enjoy Your Multi Dog Household, by Patricia McConnell Joy |
