Im Soooo Mad!! I just carpet cleaned my carpets and the living room smells great but the damn dining room smells like wet dog and piss AFTER i cleaned. I am soooo pissed!! ANY SUGGESTIONS?????????????HELP!!! |
No advice, just lots of patience. It happens to all of us. |
I use a bissel brand to clean my carpets (i shampoo once a month because I have a marker on my hands) They have a pet formula that takes out the smell and stains beautifully! Hope this works. |

I use odorban. It has taken away cat spray so it will take away the smell of anything. I get it at Sams Club. |

Have you tried Natures Miracle Spray? It seems to work for me too. |

Heehee, (sorry), that happened to me last week with our bedroom. I am currently shampooing the dining room, but decided I needed a Yorkie break. As soon as it dries, the smell goes away, I promise. The only thing I’m a bit unhappy with is I have always used ammonia in the carpet cleaner before the dogs, and now I’m using regular old carpet cleaning crap that is not doing as good of a job. Oh well, I’m hoping it will help with potty training. Ok, so I was a bit of subject, after the carpet dried, roughly two days, I sprayed Febreeze, so far, no new spots and the room smells fresh. Hope you get the same results! |
They probably sell it at walmart too since its a sister company. |

well i have no idea we only have carpet in two bedrooms and daisy isnt allowed in them but hope you figure something out soon ;) |
When you find out what works let me know!! Hee hee!! I use all kinds of deodorizers, carpet cleaners and stain removers....I alos love scented candles!! :) |
I have tried all kinds of things when shampooing the carpets and the smell is not bad but yet still there. So now I buy the one at Walmart that is for pet odors and this one seems to work best for me. |
thats ok..i bought some more of the plain pet odor shampoo and cleaned them again...the smell is still there but not quite as bad..maybe itll go away when the carpet completely dries. I must say however that it really motivated me to make Maon a belly band so I did...see how he likes that the little a$$!!!!!!! :D :D :D |
I've had this problem.. My dogs when they were little and were pottytraining, use to pee and miss the pee-pee pad all the time before.. No matter how many times i steamcleaned and washed the carpet, the stains were still there and not only that.. it still smells like pee after months and months. I have found nothing that could take out the urine smell.. (plus that and when my male started marking).. so it still smells awful. I never noticed it up until now.. I'm pregnant and i swear I can smell everything and it makes me want to hurl. lol I bought ZeroOdorPet and so far so good with stains.. i still need to see how it works on smell though (i don't think it's working).. anyone have any ideas? i've tried nature's miracle with no luck. |
Odorban is a neutralizer. It takes out the stain and the smell. I have used this on cat spray and it took the smell completely out. I get it at Sams club but I bet Walmart has it too. I put it in my steam cleaner |
I will have to try that Odorban stuff bc my bedroom carpets are gross. Daisy has been doing awful on potty training these last few weeks. She does really good when we are here to give her treats for going potty but as soon as we leave the house she pees all over the floor. I have been shampooing my carpets almost every other weekend! |
We have a fairly light color carpet in the bedrooms. What I used once when the cleaning solution, Rug Doctor (not pet deoderizer but regular solution) and very hot water. I then added about 1/8 cup of bleach. The bleach smell was kinda strong but not intolerable and when it dried, not only were my carpets brighter but the smell was gone. |
Sorry, yt, had to laugh at your last post. I believe we all know how you feel. I use Oxy solution by Simple Solution. It works well for me. I also, buy scented candles from my vet that is great. Don't know if they are sold on-line, the name is Pet Odor Exterminator Candle, sold by veterinarians. They are made by Specialty Pet Products 6401 Carmel Rd Suite 2-6, Charlotte, NC I love the Orange Blossom and the Mango Delight. |
Seriously the best anti dog stink products ever are Zero odor Urine Gone, especially zero odor. You can get them at any place like Target or Walmart, and they are usually in the pet supply section. I am serious they will change your life!!!! |

I actually talked to a woman who works in the business of dogs and cats, and has her own store in oklahoma. I asked her what she recommended, she said that I should quite using febreeze. She said that there is something in it that causes dogs to want to pee on it. I don't know why exactly. But she told me to try this product called Petastic Stain and odor remover. It comes in several different sizes, and if you can't find it in a store, there is a website as well. It is www.petastic.com. I bought some from her and tried it. It works wonderful. It also has something in it that will keep them from marking the same spot again. I am very sceptical, and didn't think it would really work. But it really does work. I had the same problem with Gizmo when we were potty training. Everytime I would shampoo, there would be a smell of pee coming from the carpet. So I would be so mad that I couldn't get it out! I have used this stuff one time, and I have never smelled the pee again. It may take more than one time to get it out, but It will work. There is something in the product that eats the urine. And then completely evaporates. That way it can't ruin the padding and everything. It has good instructions on the bottle. I hope that I could help you a little bit. If you need anymore info just send me a private message :D |
Wow, I'm going to try the Petastic product. I used the store locator and it's sold at a store right next to our church building. How convenient!! I know products with enzymes will eliminate pet odor so this product should work. Zoe is the only one who has accidents, and mostly goes on tile when she does, but I'm noticing a few spots appearing on our living room carpet. :( My home is fairly new, so don't want to get this started. Thank you!!! :wavey: |
