You need to take biting seriously whether it leaves a mark or not.
It's hard to know what to advise without more information. When Chachi goes into these "frenzies", what does he look like? I know he barks. Does he growl? Does he look playful? Or does he look threatening?
You mentioned that it's been a long time since he has bit. What did that involve?
I'm glad that you don't agree with the shock collar. I don't either. I also disagree that his barking out of control is the reason for his frenzies. Barking is part of the frenzy. It is a symptom. It is not the cause of it. Most likely, fear is the cause (but it's hard to say without knowing more about your dog). |
