Care/Training info After offering to send my info sheets to someone looking for help for a new pup the other day, I was swamped with e-mail from others wanting this also. After spending a few hours copying and pasting these on individual e-mails, I had Kimberly add them to my website www.sylvanyorkies.com, so y'all can go get them from there now...Thanks Kimberly and thanks to those who waited patiently for my responses. |
Nice of you to do this... There are people everyday getting a new puppy and this will come in handy for them. Crystal |
I checked out your info and I think that it is very thorough. You put a lot of thought into all that you wrote. I would recommend that anyone getting a new puppy read all of your information. Thanks for posting this Stacy! |
no problem...it'll save me a ton of time with the cutting and pasting to mail so the real thanks go to Kimberly.. |
Hi Stacy, Thanks for posting all that great information. I know it will be a huge help when we get our new puppy. As I was reading through, I came across the section "Crates, Does and Donts" and have a question. In the list you have 2 crates listed: the first is the small crate for sleeping and later on you mention the kitchen crate where you can feed your dog. I'm confused. Should there be two crates available or would an exercise pen serve the same purpose as the second crate? |
Very nice website!! |

I do recommend using the crates for training coupled with a larger area like an ex-pen or closed off puppy-proofed kitchen when the pup will be unmonitered for any length of time. Please let me know if you notice anything else strange or confusing...I am trying to make it as clear as possible....and thanks. |
I am a big fan of Stacy (well I am the #1 fan I bet!! :D ) and her website is just.. fabulous! "Care and Training" and also "Puppy Growth" sections are very good information. PLus you can check out gorgeous dogs' pics from her breeding program!! I just love it. So I too thank Kimberly for creating this website!! Oh.. and Kimberly's website, www.yorkiepassion.com has a lot of yorkie information and her good looking yorkies' pics also... These information is really helpful .. for someone who is about to get a yorkie like me to prepare and welcome the pup to the house!!! Anyway.. Kudos to Stacy and Kimberly! (Stacy and Feminvstr) |
I'm a BIG FAN too and the site is wonderful ! You did such a good job and it's full of great information for people to learn from - Very nice   and way to go ladies ...I respect both of you as breeders and to read information that YOU actually wrote is a nice change...so many sites have the same info over and over... one suggestion - just a little one :) ....can the page color be lightened on the Care & Training ? The black type against the brown background May be hard for some people to see....I could see it but I wonder if maybe a lighter beige or cream color would be easier on peoples eyes.... |

also...can't take credit for writing all the care and training info, much of it is adapted from things I've been sent and read myself and just tweaked and edited AND tested out on my kids over the years. Michiko, thanks for being the pres of the fan club..LOL! |

Stacy, I went back in and checked. It looks like the rest of the pages are in bolded font, but that one isn't. Maybe that would fix it... |
Thanks Sherry Lynn... YOOHOO, KIMBERLY.....:) :) :) |
That must be it and thanks Sherry Lynn....that makes it way easier to fix and see :) |
