Upset Yorkie Well, I did something different yesterday. I am retired, and normally if I am not with Sadie, I take her to my parents. It is her second home, and she loves it there. My parents spent a 7 hour day with me, away from home, and I put Sadie in the laundry room, which is quite roomy. I have a gate in the doorway, so she does not feel so enclosed. Normally, if I am just gone for a few hours, she has the run of the house, but for some reason, I feel better confining her when I am gone for longer periods of time. I decided to leave the tape recorder run for one hour. My Dad said, oh, she will be fine and will just sleep. She is three years old. When I got home, I listened to the one-hour tape, and my heart just ached. She is not a barker, so for one hour she whined, and panted heavily, which is probably not very healthy. I did leave the radio on for her. I have never heard her whine, (I have had her for 11 months), but she pants heavily if she senses I am going to leave. Now I don't ever want to leave her alone again. She is just too spoiled I guess. Does anyone else have problems with leaving their Yorkies alone? Have you ever made a video of them while you were gone or used a tape recorder? Just curious, thanks. Kate |
Omgosh...I don't think I want to know ! My husband tells me my girls cry for me when I leave...and lay with their noses glued to the front door....they walk around letting out little moans too.... but actually hearing it would break my heart.....Poor baby ...they are such little Velco dogs aren't they ? |
Yikes! That would break my heart! I used to confine him to the laundrey room when I went out but he's been a good boy, sort of so I let him run free. I think he must just sleep and bark. But I guess I don't really know! |
well i took a week off to get my yorkie settled but i am back in work tomorrow and my mum is gonna come up to look after him but im dreading leaving him. i had to go to college twice this week in the evenings and handing him over to her was so hard. i think on the days she cant have him he will be ok cos i have left him in the kitchen for quite a while on his own and apart from crying for a few mins he was fine but the horrible thing was when i went in to get him he wouldnt let me pick him up til i apologised and petted him! |
Ohh poor baby!!!! My BF says when I leave the house, Rocky sits at the garage door and crys a little bit, but then he lays down in his crate until I get home. They are so attached to their momma's. |
Well, must be nice. I leave and they are like "PARTY!!" Now, I am sitting for my parents and their dog has destroyed two, count them two sets of miniblinds!!! He can't stand to be left behind! I think my hubby is going to kill him before they get back!!! |
How sad. I know from the tell - tale evidence when I come home that Mac and Mellie are quite the party animals while I am gone. I think having each other makes it more like Mom's gone time to party than be sad. It would break my heart if I thought they were spending the day crying. |
