UPS delivery girl!!! Let me start out by saying this today is my 23rd birthday, and my mom had sent my a package. Today I recieved it. Only major problem..... The delivery girl! She walks up to the door and knocks and Tigger starts barking. Well the minute I open the door Tigger runs out! I'm telling him NO! to get in the house!(he knows these commands and will usually obey me), and the girl looks down at him and scoots him away(looked like she was trying to hit him)with the my box, then he runs behind her to her other side and she lifts her leg to kick him (which she did gently and then pushes him away with her foot) by this time I pick him up (trying to be polite) put him in the house and close the door. The entire time this is going on I'm saying "Oh he won't bite don't worry." Her snooty reply "He'd better not, I don't wanna have to hit him!"  I gave her a dirty look, because I wasn't about to stoop to her level, and signed her board. I didn't say anything directly to her as she left and she didn't say anything to me. BUT as I was closing the door(I couldn't resist) I made sure she was within hearing distance with the door open a few inches called her a BIOTCH only without the O. :D (that made me feel a little better) I hope she heard. I was so tempted to say "Hit my dog and I'll make sure you're fired!" ;) what would y'all have done? |

Happy Birthday and don't let anybody ruin it for you! Sometimes people have a fear of dogs, any size large or small. Possibly she has been bitten before, who knows? It's unfortunate when we want others to treat our fur kids with the same compassion as we do ourselves and it doesn't happen. :( |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! First of all. :) Second, I can't believe how rude some people are. How can you even TALK about kicking a dog that small?! I don't get it at all. I couldn't kick or hit or ANYTHING to ANY animal....but a yorkie? For crying out loud, most of them are as big as our feet! Or just a smidge bigger. I'm sorry that you had to deal with someone as bitchy as her on your birthday no less. :( |

:Birthday3 Happy Birthday!!! Don't let the lady ruin you day. |

Happy Birthday :birthday2 Wish I was 23 again, no maybe not,,,have a fun day. |

Happy Birthday!!!!!! You know it would be different if you had a huge dog like a great dane (I have one so nobody think I'm downing the breed) that came running out the door. That would actually to me be understandable b/c that's a dog that could seriously injur you. But a yorkie???? Come on, a yorkie can bite your ankles and that's about it. I understand these people probly have to deal with animals and not always in a good way but they should consider the dog that is coming at them. Just my opinion Crystal |

I dont want to start a problem here, I know the lady could of handled the situation better, but you might want to consider her perspective. Doing that kind of job she has probably been biten, or atleast close. When I was grooming, the owners would ALWAYS say "Oh dont worry he wont bite", I never believe that. Even a Yorkie bite could cause stiches depending, and if it was coming at me like that I would try to defend myself somehow. I love dogs and all animals SOO much but Ive learned that some dogs are just neurotic and will bite with no warning, ESPECIALLY defeding their property. Happy Bday by the way :) |

Rude, rude, rude...... But Happy Birhtday |

 I'm sure someone in my house would have said, "Well, thats good. Because I wouldn't want to have to hit you!" probably me :p I can't believe she'd do that. I'd be mad too if I were you! Good job though, for not sinking to her level! Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! |

Happy Birthday! I can also see her perspective but she could have gotten her point out in a more kind way. when any one comes to my door, I put the baby gate up before opening it. Ahia has sneaked out too many times. |

Oh! You were very mature for handeling that the way you did. I would have told her, if she hits or kicks my baby, I would do the same to her! Some people are so dumb! What on earth would a tiny little yorkie do to a full grown woman! I would have called her a biotch too! You go girl! :D |

I can understand them being wary of dogs, I can also understand dogs being "wary" of them with some of the attitudes! |

 Happy Happy Birthday!! |

I was thinking the same thing. Delivery people have it the worst when it comes to dogs especially the mailman. They probably can't tell who is gonna bite so are probably like that with all dogs. |

Happy Birthday!! Hope it was great and that mom sent a cool present! :) |

Happy Birthday!!! Try to not let this ruin your day. Some people are just plain rude. Maybe her life isn't all that up to snuff and is just bitter in general. At least you don't have to deal with her everyday. I would have done the same thing you would. Except I probably would have said something to her face before slamming the door to make sure she knows not to mess w/ my yorkie |

Thanks all I had a great birthday in spite of her, we went to the Olive Garden and saw Underworld Evolution. Not as good as the first one but still worth seeing. I can understand where some of y'all are coming from with the whole mailman situation. but come on, My dog weighs 4.6 pounds, is an only child, never has biten, and is obedient. He was just happy to see her. So what if he was barking. that's what dogs do, it doesn't mean he's going to attack. Now I know to put him in his crate next time. I thought about it but was in too much of a hurry. I guess the blame shouldn't really be on her, but she should have been more professional. She didn't need to say what she did. It was rude. |

Sounds like she wasn't kicking him - just pushing him away with her foot, etc. I think delivery people are a little more nervous about dogs running out or at them than most people because so many of them have been bitten. And, don't think for a minute that a small dog can't bite - or doesn't hurt when it bite (they can bite to the bone). We've had a lot of posts lately from people whose Yorkies have bitten people. If this had happened to me - I would have understand the delivery person's concern - but (like you) would have jumped out and gotten my dog as quickly as possible. I probably would even have apologized to the delivery person - Sorry - I think our little guys are the sweetest things in the world (and I would bet a million dollars that mine would never bite anyone) -- but other people don't know that..... My daughter (in her teens) delivered things to people houses - and I can't tell you how many times she was frightened by dogs - all sizes. She was never bitten, but they still often scared her.
