Help! Babysitting another Yorkie! My husband and I are babysitting a friend's Yorkie in our home for 5 days. Our Yorkie girl is 2 and a half and has never been around other Yorkies. Well, she is not happy at the situation. Our girl is about 10 pounds and the other Yorkie is 5 pounds and about 4 years. Our girl is growling and snapping at our "guest". Any suggestions? |
I would keep them separated except when you are right there to intervene. |
I would be patient and just keep trying to slowly introduce them. I'm not expert but I had to get Thor to be friends with my bf's ex roommate and he was being SO viscious with this other (wolf-mix) dog. Try holding your girl and letting the other one down and slowly letting them sniff, and maybe give them both treats... Have you tried to put them down together yet? Are you sure that your babe would be agressive with the one you are watching. I have found that sometimes Thor acts like he wants to fight (growling, barking...) and if I just let him down or let him check out the other dog he turns all wiggley... :) Good luck, I hope you figure it out! |
