| Hickey007 | 03-24-2005 06:50 AM | Mine barks...well I don't know if I would say a lot or not. She mostly barks when she thinks someone is coming or if she hears something. Usually she barks when I'm home alone at night. I'm not a big scaredy cat or anything but I have to say she has gotten me stirred up a couple of times. She also barks at the cats once in a while and at us if she wants our attention. I have however taught her to speak on command as well as the hush command. She'll start barking and I'll just say "hush" and she for the most part stops and looks at me like "why". I have once read that if you teach your dog to speak that it reduces their barking because they learn that there is a time to bark, which makes since but I don't really know if it is true. I will say however I have a bloodhound that knows "speak" and "sing" and she isn't much of a howler like most bloodhounds tend to be so maybe its true, but its proabaly just more of a coincidence. |
