Update on the Rescue I adopted 3 Attachment(s) Well it's been one week and the Yorkie I bought from a Rescue home has made a HUGE improvement. When we brought him home last Saturday he layed flat on the floor and would not move. When my Scruffy finally enticed him to walk around and play he could barely run!!! He was scared of everything...very lethargic and was sometimes agressive towards her. I mean it was sooooo sad he didn't even know how to play with a toy! The first night instead of sleeping in his bed he slept on the floor. I mean he is a prime example of how aweful puppymills are. For those of you that didn't read my original thread he was rescued form a PuppyMill. He is 7 months old and has basically been sitting in a crate his entire life. He has no muscles..they are very wobbley. Well, I'm happy to report that he is doing great! Him and Scruffy are the best of friends. They play and play until they both fall asleep from exhaustion. He still gets tired well before she does but he is slowly getting more energy and composure and today he finally learned how to use the Doggy door! I'm so proud of him. I have to say I'm very proud of my little Scruffy because she has been so giving with her toys and has really taken him under her wing....I just wanted to update all of you because I know there are a few people here that wish to own another Yorkie but can't afford it. Well I hope you all at least consider a Rescue. There are lots of Yorkies out there needing your Love and Compassion. He wasn't house broken and I couldn't crate train him since he is used to doing EVERYTHING inside the Crate, but he is almost there...He still has a few mishaps but overall he is doing his thing outside in the yard. It's been only a week and he is wonderful... The first picture is the one posted in the Rescue site. The next two are the most recent pictures we took of him. I haven't taken him to a groomers yet because he needs his Rabies shots. Yaremis |
So glad that you found him and that he now has a good home. I bet he thinks he's living in a castle with you. Just think what it must have been like to live in that little cage all that time. So glad he has you both. |
Aww that is so awesome. I am glad things are working out so well. He is a very handsome boy. I love his color and he has a sweet face. |
Im so happy that he is doing so well and that he and Scruffy are best buddies. It is great that you gave this little guy a second chance to be happy and a great future. |
AAWWW he is so lucky to have you...I am so glad all is getting better...bless you for saving him..... |
What a wonderful, happy ending for your little guy!! You are a blessing to him!! Keep us updated on his progress :) |
I'm so glad it's working out. He's so cute and now he has a momma and a sister. |
It breaks my heart when I hear about puppy mills. How can anyone treat such an innocent living creature like that? When I was searching everywhere for my yorkie, my mom and I did try the rescues first. And we also tried searching under the pets left behind by Hurricane Katrina. No yorkies anywhere near my area. I did finally find a yorkie puppy and my mom ended up paying $950 for her. The next dog is get I want it to be a rescue. But, it will have to be when I have my own place. And it can be any breed that I would rescue, not just a yorkie. Because my mom does not want 2 dogs living at home. But, I want to help animals in any way that I can. All animals deserve a loving home. I am glad you were able to give her such a loving home. They need to be more kind people out in the world like you. |
Bingo is beautiful and he has a tail :D It will be wonderful to watch him blossom as he becomes more secure and healthy under your loving care. I am also sending flowers to Scruffy for being such a help to Bingo and showing him the ropes. Please keep the pictures coming so we can all rejoice in his freedom. |
I was wondering if he had a name yet! Bingo is a sweet name :) He is a lucky guy. And you are lucky, too! |
Bingo is a cutie. So happy to hear he is doing so well. Sound like Scruffy is being a great big sister. |
How wonderful for your little guy to get a forever home. I have had Lucy now for three months. As I said before she also came from a puppymill here in NV. She was like your little guy when we brought her home, no muscles, could barely walk, didn't know how to play. And also so skinny. But she has blossomed and is such a delight. She is a happy, happy little girl. I am so happy that we found her and gave her a home. I think she is as well. It is amazing how attached you get to these little sweeties. |
BLESS HIS HEART AND YOURS TOO ! What a wonderful thing you did saving him and I hope he starts feeling more comfortable - poor baby - I SO DESPISE PUPPY MILLS Anyone who doesn't know what they are - SEARCH THE NET and NEVER EVER Buy from Pet Stores ! |
Bless your heart - he now has a good home and people that will love and care for him. That's so sad how they have to live in the puppy mills. Terrible! :thumbdown :thumbdown |
I was very touched by the story . I am so glad that he is well in your family . Bingo is a cutie . Thank you for sharing . |
