What airlines let your pup sit with you?
 

Anyone know off hand? Who and how much? We are planning a trip and I would like to bring her.

Most airlines allow pets to sit with you in a carrier under the seat. Bruce has been on numerous flights with me. We have gone on Alaska Airlines, Delta, and Northwest!!!

NWA/KLM for sure! Some airlines have different 'weight' limits.

As far as I know, the only one that doesn't all pets in the cabin is Southwest, but there could be others....anyone?

Try PetTravel.com they are a great resource for anyone wanting to travel with their pets, especially for out of country travels & lists of pet friendly hotels. Each airline seems to have different rules and costs so checkout their web site and type in pets in the search box it should give you the info you need.

Make sure your baby has a health certificate from the vet. And, check ahead and let the airlines know you want to travel with a dog in a carrier inside of the cabin. They frequently allow only a certain number of pets in the cabin and the usually charge a fee..

I took Chewy in a carrier on JetBlue. On the way out to CA, they were kind of strict, but on the way back they let me take him out. The flight attendants thought he was cute! I think it all depends on the situation and the crew :D . I think you can have your big dog with you in a seat if you pay for the cost of that seat and only a few airlines do it...I'm not sure what the stipulations are though.

Monkey and Maddie went everywhere with us. Also, when I had my chihuahua years ago, he also traveled with me. I don't recall ever having encountered an airline that didn't accept pets in the cabin. I think there is a limit on the number of pets allowed on one flight (including other passengers) so be sure to book your pet's flight at the same time as yours, just in case others may be carrying their pets as well. This usually happens more on holiday travel, etc. (pet overbooking). My boyfriend sneaks Monkey on the plane without a ticket all of the time. They have never checked for his ticket at security...LOL. Of course, knowing my luck, they would ask me for it. I don't know how he does it! I think they all think he's just so cute (Monkey that is) that they get all caught up in oohing & aaahing that they don't even check the ticket for a pet pass. Then, he goes back in his doggy bag (which just looks like a regular back pack) pass through the gate and then he's on...easy as that. I WOULDN'T SUGGEST TRYING IT!!!! I just think it's funny and thought I would share it... :D ! Also, I have always gotten the little guys out to sit on my lap for a while. Most of the time, the attendants don't mind if the passenger next to you doesn't mind...but that's just my experience.

Continental charges $80.00 each way and Song charges $50.00 each way. I think that there should be a limit on what airlines can charge for a pet. Really, they do not handle the pet, the pet does not take up any more space, (in fact you have to give up one carry-on bag to bring your pet) and they do not give the pet any food or drink. One time I flew to Florida, I paid $69. each way for myself and my family and had to pay $80. for my pet. What is wrong with this picture? Yes there should be a small fee but some airlines carry this fee to far. I compained to "shame on you" once but never heard back from them.

You're right. The carrier IS one of your carry on bags so technically, they shouldn't charge you. Your purse goes under the seat and you don't have to pay, a dog goes under the seat and you have to pay? What is that???
