muffins hair cut advice needed Hello everyone! I would love some advice on giving muffin bear a hair cut. You see when I got the poor fella he had A LOT of dandruff and itchie skin :( . I am thinking of giving him the puppy cut and then putting a little baby oil in his shampoo to moisturize his skin. Last time I bathed and brushed him he tolerated it very well and let me brush out most of the dandruff but it was so bad. When I got him and he had a lot of shampoo residue on him. It took over and hour to brush and pick out the goobers and we still have a lot of work to do. He is 13 years old and I am concerned that if I give him the puppy cut then his hair won't grow back. Is that silly? Thank you for any advice :) |
Have you tried oatmeal shampoo for his itchies ? I don't know what to tell you about the dandruff but on a puppy cut - if it makes him more comfortable at age 13 I would do it....Yorkies look cute in short hair too. |
Thanks, I think I will give it a try today. I think he will feel a lot better and I will be a lot easier for me to get the crud off his skin. I do use an oatmeal shampoo for dogs with out any purfumes. I haven't tried a spendy one but I will try that if all else fails. I'll let you know how it goes. |
2 Attachment(s) Jess had dandruff a few months ago and our vet told us to give her omega 3 oil in her food and use an oil based shampoo. The dandruff went away after about 3weeks.Right now I am using pure mink oil shampoo and that is supposed to help dry skin and it makes their coat look GREAT too! Jess also had her first hair cut last thursday and I was SO nervous! But it ended up looking great:) Here are before and after pictures: |
Jess looks great! Wow! Jess does look great and her coat is so shiny and beautiful :) We did get some special suppliment with Omega 3 in it and it gave the bear the worst runs! (not fun for anyone :( ) He suggested we try it again, just less. I've been a little reluctant. I am excited for the new doo. It is cold here in oregon so he will have to wear his little sweaters and coats, but that is fun for mommy too! Anything for my little bear! :animal36 Do you know of any good sites for jammies. I have been looking but with little luck, and the big pet stores are always sold out! |
I would get the puppy cut, just keep him warm. Tinkerbell's Closet has PJ's She's a YT member too. Good luck to you! :) :) :) http://www.tinkerbellscloset.com/ |
